It's a shame what is happening with Amigo loans. I've had a loan with them between Jan 2020 and Feb 2022. I've just paid off my loan. They were the only lender who would approve me and they never missold or over charged me, they also offered to reduce my payments throughout the pandemic which fortunately I didn't Nedd, thought it was nice to have thw offer. Obviously I can't comment on others experience but mine was great and I would of used them again if they were still lending.

Had to arrange a repayment plan as I changed jobs and they agreed an acceptable amount each week which means I pay off my loan 4 months early.. very happy

"Very very disappointed"

Very very disappointed - need to change my repayment date as i am in new work with a new pay date, wont change it, tell me i will have to go into arears when my payment date comes for 2 weeks and then make a double payment (which i cant afford) to pay the month i am in arrears and then the new month so i am in credit, problem is as soon as you go in arrears with them you get bombarded by messages and emails - boardline harassment telling me and my gaurantor that i am in arrears by X amount ect, really would think that due to the current complaints and investigation against them they would help someone move there payment date rather than have them go in arrears and force them to make a double payment (again which i cant afford) so i dont go into arrears again - guess i wont be eating next month - dont ever use Amigo loans - i will be joining the complaints against them.

I am quite simply appalled at the way this company operates, they gave me a loan in 2013 for £5000 initially, then subsequent top up loans ( top up) indicates its an extention of your current loan, but no the interest starts again. On the last top up in 2018 for £5250 they added interest of £301,93 to make the sum owed now £5551.93, i had to make 6 payments of £207.51 to even get the debt down to the loan amount i took out, after 46 payments of 60 , i have paid £9545.46 to pay off only £2344.46 of the debt, and still £2905.14 still to pay. I've heard that as of 2015 you can only pay a maximum of 100% of the original loan ?? If that's so surely my owed amount would be £454.54 not almost £3000 plus interest. Utterly disgusted with this companies underhand tactics to drain as much money out of you as possible.......

Never missed a payment prior to COVID unfortunately work was not as plentiful over the last 24 months , I have made a payment to Aimgo every month without fail. I fell behind on December 21 and low and behold they start with the threatening texts and emails not only to you but to your Guarantor. D my account manager.. you should be very proud of yourself, hope you are never in my position

I am a customer with Amigo and have struggled with my loan in covid, there is never understanding or empathy from the staff. They all need to be re- trained for being so patronising. I am disgusted I even took a loan out from them. The staff need to be sacked for being so rude. This comapny is a shambles.

Ive taken a loan with amigo and it was perhaps the worst decision ive made. At the time I was in a desperate situation which made me take desperate choices which is what amigo preys on (desperate people). You might think that this might save your ass for the time being but you are wrong!!! Amigo loans charges you an enormous amount of interest! Their excuse is that because they take a risk on your bad credit they cant charge you the same as a bank which is true however it doesnt justify the amount of interest they charge you as those numbers are simply ridiculous which is why they are going through court now. If you take a loan as big as I did (10k) you will notice that after a year of paying arounf £350 monthly your debt has barely decreased and when you call their customer service team you will be explained that they take all the interest at the beginning and throughout the last year of your loan you will see that the interest decreases. In other words it means that they will try to take as much money as they can since the start of your loan in case you might decide to close the account later down the line if you are in a better situation. Amigo doesnt help you, it actually gets you far more in debt! After a year with them I managed to get a much better loan elsewhere (had 4 years left with amigo around £350 a month and found another one that would cover the debt to amigo for 2 years £320 a month). Dont let them scam you!

Just closed my loan. This is by far the worst loan company going, if you want to get into a hole and die then sure Amigo is your friend.

Avoid of all costs loan is not worth it !! No understanding whatsoever for personal reasons or an issue that may come up and cannot pay on that day.. absolutely hound you emails texts ringing and your guarantor!! Worst customer service I’ve ever seen no compassion and will stalk you practically
