"Dishonest company caught in a lie"

I ordered a matching set, a crib, dresser and changing tray. The changing tray was a different shade and texture than the rest of the set. Modern nursery blamed it on Da Vinci manufacturing and said they were working on it with the manufacturer to get a new batch out that actually matches and then they would send me the correct color. That was on 6/25/24. It’s 1/31/25 now. We’ve gone back and forth in a dozen or so emails over the last 7 months of them assuring me they are still working to fix the problem. I have worked in manufacturing, it doesn’t take this long to stain wood a different color and I don’t believe for a second that they’re doing anything. I just want a refund and for them stop jerking me around. I’ll gladly send the tray back.

"Very reliable shipping times and GREAT customer service!"

I have had a great experience getting my nursery furniture from Modern Nursery!! My dresser had been out of stock for months, and Modern Nursery was the only retailer I could find that would let me order it with an estimated restock/ship date. Their restock/ship date was very accurate, even a month before it restocked, and customer service was VERY friendly and helpful when I asked about an order status update. Once it shipped, it arrived in 48 hours. I'm really happy I have bought all my nursery furniture with Modern Nursery!

"Even with issue customer service good"

I ordered a dresser that was put on back order, but it was too much time so when I called the person I spoke to helped come up with other options that were in stock. Even though the 2nd dresser was more expensive they helped to get it to me very quickly. Unfortunately, the dresser showed up damaged so the same lady helped me get replacement parts. Their customer service is good.

"Customer service was stellar"

I erred in placing a couple of gift orders from Modern Nursery. Since I had linked from a registry, I thought the shipping address would be to the gift recipient. When I saw the confirmation of my order, I realized it was being shipped to me. I had a couple of other problems as well. I emailed the store and Millie from Customer Service responded quickly and took care of everything. I could not be more pleased.

"Never again Modern Nursery-choose any other da Vinci carters vendor"

Never again. 5 other vendors selling the da Vinci product- made mistake of going with modern nursery.

Modern nursery’s delivery vendor dumped box w/ dresser in driveway in pouring rain. 10 feet from a covered porch where the other delivery person put the da Vinci crib box (obviously a different company than modern nursery). I realize it’s their delivery company who messed up. But it’s still their responsibility and a business decision they made in selecting them. The box is soaked through though, splitting, a bolt sticking out and cannot just be moved bc it’s a heavy soaking wet cardboard box. I send them photos and email and also placed a call.

They are not willing to have someone come get/move the box, they will only do a piece by piece replacement for damage. I explained that the wooden dresser in the box has been sitting in the rain, I shouldn’t have to open it and photograph every dismantled piece, match and provide a lot number in order to have situation resolved. I am also now unable to move it bc it’s a heavy wet cardboard box with a dismantled dresser inside and cannot just bring it inside with my husband as I planned bc the box is soaked. No returns, no refunds, and a have to now wait until it stops raining to go open it up in the driveway to take photos and provide lot numbers for specific pieces and they will only replace the parts with visible photo damage. Piece by piece. Even if the wood parts dry and don’t show damage, they have still been sitting in the rain.

Oh- and they will not be covering the cost I now have to pay to have someone come remove this thing.

Lastly they expect ME to handle comms with their delivery company about what happened so that it doesn’t happen again. As if that should also be my responsibility to deal with an issue between Modern Nursery and their chosen delivery vendor. First they blamed carters/da Vinci for this being policy then they suggest I should be handling feedback to their delivery company. Talk about passing responsibility. I am surprised Carters and Davinci allows them to sell their products bc it doesn’t look great from them either.

Go with any other vendor carrying the product. I made a huge mistake using Modern Nursery. I have every intention of telling any of my mom groups and family to stay away.

And for those mentioning a “family business” so was Purdue Pharma. All for helping the small business at least if I had selected Amazon or one of the other vendors, they would have helped ASAP. It’s still pouring rain and my car is still blocked by this thing. Not what I want to be dealing with while pregnant in a storm.
