"Rude and useless"
Rude and useless! Spoke to Dyna at 118 who was not helpful at all. Was on hold for a good 10 minutes and no f***s given at her end clearly! To be told my account has been closed with no proper explanation and that she is now ending the call! Foaming to say the least! Am I fook paying after that s*** show of a conversation (if you call it that!). No consideration for people struggling with the cost of living not helpful at all would avoid! Awful awful awful! And Dyna if your reading this you seriously need to learn some customer service skills and your a complete smeghead!

118 phone to update your business details and then sell these to other companies. After being contacted by 118 I was bombarded with cold calls for business electricity and telecoms, I'm a sole trader working from home and A, don't require these services B, don't have time for constant cold calls.
I'm reply to 118 118's comments below, do you think I'm stupid? Of course it is you, the telephone number traces back to you. You phone every year to update details and then sell those to third parties. Yoy even admitted this on the phone call, which apparently you recorded. I suggest you stop this stock reply to all reviews as it just shows you don't care less about selling data and breaking GDPR. I've now reported you to the ICO.

"118 Illegally shares business information without consent"
Recently set up a new business email address and then started receiving marketing emails, one after the other. I contacted one of the marketing companies and asked who provided them with my business details, they told me it was 118 118. I never provided my details and email address to 118 118 but they have illegally shared it with marketing companies without prior consent and without my knowledge. 118 have a privacy policy that states they share business details with third parties, but surely you would need to register with them to provide your details for them to adhere to the privacy, nope not exactly legal. Now seeking legal advice to penalise 118 for breaking the data protection act and sharing business information to marketing companies without consent of the business. ICO have been informed. To follow up on 118’s response, these were not scammers this was 118 themselves. I have reported 118 head office to the ICO. I have already spoken to the official 118 company in the UK who have admitted that they have been passing my business details on to third party marketing companies. Just to be clear the data breach relates to 118 London HQ and not scammers. This is what 118 does, they don’t admit any wrongdoing but blame it on scammers.
After reading the reviews I’m not calling 118 on a premium number instead I will leave the ICO to investigate this crooked company and if 118 wants to resolve it they can call me!

"Seems good at first but they rip you…"
Seems good at first but they rip you off big time in the end. I worked out that with monthly payments and extortionate monthly charges they increase whenever they like I am paying 139.2% apr, not 49.9%. I am just about staying even and within limit, but will never pay it all off at that rate.
118 make no exceptions for cost of living increase or priorty customers with disabilities or health problems and seem to charge more as that situation gets worse for everyone, too take advantage.
I am in the process of trying to claim some obvious overcharges back.
Customer service are also less than useless and slow response to written complaint.
AVOID even if you feel desperate for extra financial help and tempted by their opening offer. They will change payment amount and monthly charge whenever they like to make it harder to pay back.
Greedy and gutless tactic during these difficult financial times for everyone, accept for 118 118!

118 said someone would contact me within 5 days...is now day 20 and had nothing more than an automated response email and another increase in my monthly payments.
Would 118 like to comment on this failure please?)

Ive been trying to close my account for a month now and keep being told" its not this department you need"
Ive been given different phone numbers and the last one was not in service. Im still paying my monthly fee because no one seems to care I want to close my account, Very poor.

Please stop cold calling! You phone every day or a few times a week...we've asked again and again to be taken off your call list! And now when we say that you just hang up then call again a few days later...it's so rude!

This company are a total pain in the backside. Continually calling fom different parts of the UK.
Just based on the amount of cold calls I would never do business with them!

We receive numerous calls to our business. When trying to find out what the call is regarding they just put the phone down. Extremely rude and aggressive attitudes

Keeps ringing my company several times a week. I ask to be removed from their list but they just hang up. Will never use!
