SB Designs and Development are a joke! Adrian Pearce is a rogue, con man extracting £30,000 for a kitchen extension, fitting, and flooring, along with a downstairs toilet extension. The initially promised 8-week project commenced in July but abruptly ended in November, leaving our home in disarray. Pearce, violating contractual terms, demanded final payment despite less than 1/3 of the job completed. The aftermath includes a damp, leaking roof affecting the entire property. His team focused on financial gains over quality work, employed subpar tradesmen who worked sporadically from 11 am to 1 pm. Adrian Pearce and his team were cheap and lousy. They would work sporadically from 11am to 1pm. Most of their time at the property was spent in periods of only 2 hours. We would count ourselves lucky if we saw them for longer than that.
My brother is currently in the procedure of trying to sue him and take him to court.
Plenty of times he got angry whenever we challenged him as to why the job wasn’t done as he had originally promised it was a 2 month job. It ended up being a 6 month nightmare. He got very aggressive and intimidating and gave silly excuses that he ‘didn’t have enough work men, which to my knowledge should be arranged before, especially with a job worth £37,000. He threatened us all the time that he was gonna ‘leave the job’. We asked for an electric hob and he got us an induction hob (which we did not ask for) which he had from a previous job and just came to put in our kitchen so we’ve had to buy another cooker as his team were very quick to come and collect our utensils before the job started. It was all part of his plan to take everything away from us. My mum’s had to be using a portable hob for the past 3-4 months which has been terrible. We have to now get new builders to trust to finish the job, therefore incurring more costs. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!

I entered into an agreement with Mr. Adrain for a Kitchen and Toilet extension and installation project, which should have taken him and his team a maximum of 8 weeks. Having invested a significant amount (£30,000!!!!), I expected the quality of work and delivery to be of the highest standards, BUT I was sadly mistaken.
There were so many excuses and communication issues throughout the whole process, which were quite frankly laughable at times, such as being too cold, not responding to emails or calls, it's raining, the van breaking down, "there's a lot of work to do," and even the ludicrous claim of being on jury duty!!!
With mainly ONE person working on the job and most of the time not turning up when they should have and only staying for 1 hour at times, I knew this was a disaster coming!! With the project now 5 months in (And guarantees that all will be delivered by Christmas), the roof had been installed incorrectly, my old kitchen removed (New Kitchen Not fully installed), and the New Toilet Not installed, dust, debris, and rubbish all over the property affecting the health of my elderly asthmatic parents, DAMP from the roof causing damage and MOLD!!! No drainage was installed from the roof, the flooring is UNEVEN, subpar materials, the cooker and hub not matching, and the quality of workmanship was so POOR, subpar, and untenable that an apprentice DIYer could have done better!!! I wish I could share pictures!!!
Concerned about the standard and safety of the work, I brought in an inspector who was appalled and shocked at the condition of the project. In response, Mr. Adrian promptly halted all work and had the audacity to demand final payment, threatening us with debt collectors to complete the works. To which I reminded him that under the contract, the balance was only due upon completion!!!
We have just spent Christmas without a Kitchen and a Toilet and are now left with the expenses and stress of hiring another company to fix the DAMAGES (especially to the roof) caused! I deeply regret choosing this company, and I would NOT recommend them to anyone!!
Extremely disappointed with the entire experience. BEWARE!!!

Adrian Pierce took £4400 off my elderly mother up front in April 2022 to deliver a new front hall and upstairs front bedroom and to this day had failed to complete the work. When I contacted him on Facebook messenger months later he replied saying he would come and do the flooring in the hall but wanted another £580 up front for the tiles. When I said we wouldn't pay another penny upfront until work was completed he stopped replying to my messages and has never replied since! AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!
He has also left all the rubbish under our carport and never taken it away! We have now had to hire another company to complete the work!

"Disappointing!! 2/10 quality of work"
I made first contact with Adrian in January hiring him to renovate my en suite. He agreed to commence work end of Feb/beginning of March and told me it would take about 3 days. He didn't start on the the agreed days giving me excuses and cancelling a few times.
He would take days to respond to missed calls and messages and always had an excuse. He has finally completed the job today 23/05/22 and there are no right words to describe the poor quality of work. It's so poorly done that even an apprentice would do a better job. I told him I wasn't happy with the quality of work and asked him to fix it which he agreed to but didn't even make an effort and left before I had a chance to look. I didn't see him leave because I was on the phone in another room.
I regret hiring him!
I don't recommend him!

I would 100% agree with the review left by Jayne Weller. Its almost word for word what I would have written as a review other than we were told it would take 10 days and it took 9 weeks.

3 weeks after our (eventual) completed renovation, the basin tap started leaking (not Adrian's fault). He told us he'd sort a replacement. Asked us to send him videos of the leak to forward to the manufacturer (sent 9/5/2022). Chased up last week 16/5/2022, he told us tap was out of stock. I checked website seeing it said it was in stock so contacted company to find they were waiting on the videos I sent Adrian 3 weeks ago. They have the videos and are now sending the replacement tap. I sorted in 12 hours what it's taken Adrian 3 weeks to (not) sort. Lord knows how long we'd have been waiting for it to 'come back into stock'!
Unfortunately we had a difficult time with SBDD. We asked a lot for our renovation, the standard of work completed is high and we are pleased with the end result. It has, however, taken them 6 full weeks to complete our renovation. Apart from the first 2 weeks, they worked no more than a few hours each day 2-3 days a week and we had to chase to know which days it would be, turning up sometimes hours later than stated. Adrian has seemingly no appreciation for the fact his customers have jobs and lives to organise.
Though they have since been corrected, mistakes were made due to lack of communication with us and between team members causing delays.
The team's time keeping and reliability is inconsiderately poor and Adrian seemed content to leave our bathroom part-finished for weeks (literally). He even tried to excuse his poor job management with the fact he was juggling 10 jobs at once?!
Despite sending a comprehensive list of fittings we wanted with URL links, numerous items were ordered wrongly resulting in delays and the wrong toilet was even fitted.
They had to work while we were away on holiday due to delays and only worked 3 of these days meaning we returned from holiday to only a toilet, sink and vanity unit fitted after 3 weeks of work. One of the days, we were led to believe they had worked so our house was left unlocked for them to not turn up!
We are overall pleased with our bathroom but A LOT of stress to get there and we would not recommend this company for a big renovation. We certainly won't be using them again.

Adrian and his team did a first class job on our kitchen, my girlfriend and I were so pleased with the end result. Nothing was too much trouble even when Adrian had to re-arrange fitting at the last minute due to issues with our floor fitting. Quality workmanship, excellent price and fantastic service. He's now even doing my parents kitchen!

This guy ripped my parents off who are in their middle 70’s , he fitted them a bathroom, the quality was absolutely shocking , when questioned he was threatening towards them, had my mother in tears, the finished article was totally sub standard, looked like it had been done by a learner DIYER , please keep away from him. If you want to have a good respectable job done this guy is not the answer

"An unbiased assessment of SBDD work and communications"
Adrian has completed two large jobs for me, both fine, however after the work has been completed and issues arise, he is almost impossible to contact, he is very reluctant to respond to emails, if he answers his mobile, he often delays, then cancels. I have now sent 3 emails about the latest mess, no response. I have had three floods in the kitchen from the bathroom he did. He did a repair to the joint causing the issue a carried out a repair to the ceiling. Exactly the same issue has occurred, causing partial collapse of the ceiling and issues with the electrical system. I have spoken to him about this, was told he will sort it. That was a month ago. Have sent 3 emails. All ignored. Beware
