"I bought a pair of Meindl Portland…"

I bought a pair of Meindl Portland hiking shoes about 10 months ago from Jackson Sports. This was my 5th pair of Portland hiking shoes. Meindl shoes are great with respect to comfort but the soles wear out relatively quickly. I guess that's the price one pays for comfort! However, few weeks ago I noticed water entering one of the shoes (left foot) and upon inspection I noticed the sole at the front has separated from the top, leaving a large gap where water was coming thru. See the attached picture. Absolutely due to poor workmanship. I immediately contacted Jackson Sports and let them know about the problem. Jackson contacted Meindl but Meindl did not accept responsibility and blame the failure for more than usual wear within the time of use of less than one year!! Indeed very disappointing.
Jackson offered me a discount to purchase another pair and waived shipping cost. I have accepted that.
I am very disappointing about the way Meindl handled this situation and did not take responsibility for failure of their shoes due to the poor workmanship. However, Jackson demonstrated responsibility and customer care. I appreciate that!

No issues with the purchase or shipping via Royal Mail, arriving quicker than expected. Only complaint is the sizing is not accurate to the chart on Paramo's website, needed to get an L and not an M. Will need to reorder.

My only concern with this order had to do with a mistake I made. I thought I had ordered DHL for US delivery. Apparently I did not, and I did not find Royal Mail especially informative regarding tracking and delivery. But Jackson sports was very responsive when I inquired. Thank you.
