Housesitmatch is big enough to offer plenty of wonderful opportunities both in the UK and Europe especially, but small enough to be personal and friendly. The availability of Lamia the owner of the site is really unique. Her willingness to help out one to one is a great encouragement and support to beginners especially, be they a house owner or sitter. I am both a house exchanger since 2000 and house sitter since the mid 2010's, so I speak with a lot of experience. Be patient and you will be delighted with the results.

Currently I'm working in a grad scheme for a small company, and so I've found finding a place to stay in air BnB or a hotel for a week, out of my budget.

In comes HouseSit Match, the ideal solution for finding a place to stay away from home, without the additional cost of finding accommodation.

Someone who's used the site before recommended it to and so I had a look, and found a great little house sit on the edge of Bristol, looking after two little dogs for a week.

Getting in was super easy, and the owner gave a whistle stop tour of the house which perfectly set us up for an easy and relaxed week.

The house was on a lovely and quiet street which made a nice change, and allowed for some lovely walks to the local parks.

The week went by very peacefully and without incident and I have to recommend House Sit Match, as an excellent vendor for finding great little getaways!

Since my first experience, I been on another weekend away and will keep a look out in the future.

"Easy house sitting"

Post retirement, with time flexibility, I'm attracted to the low out of pocket cost of a housesit. I was a bit anxious to start, but the HSM website made it incredibly easy to find and set up a match. The administrative side was clear and covered the right issues, but not at all burdensome. All the advance prep was straightforward. Then, when I arrived at the house, I could not have been more pleased. The houseowner left clear instructions so I knew exactly what my role was. The house itself was a dream: lovely, quiet, comfortable, well equipped, and centrally located. Because of this service, I was able to travel and have a much-needed new experience.

"Brilliant experience!"

It was the first time I’ve ever used a pet/house sitter. I was very anxious, especially since it was for a very extensive period, 6 weeks abroad! Lamia was fantastic, very clear in providing information, helping with the process, and answering any sort of questions. I received a good number of applications, and the applicant I chose has been great. My dogs usually bark at any stranger, which is why I was so surprised to see that they calmed down and showed no signs of aggression or stress to this applicant just a few minutes after he arrived to my house for an introduction meeting. I returned after my vacation to a very clean and tidy house and two very happy dogs. I will absolutely repeat the process for the Christmas holidays!

This is my second pet sit with Housesitmatch. My first was in a small town in the south of France, and my second in Buckinghamshire, UK. Initially, I was mostly interested in spending time with the animals I was going to be looking after while traveling and working, but during my time I realised it was also a unique opportunity to visit places I hadn’t been to, test a new lifestyle away from the city and meet new people. Lamia is always there to help, and the members are thoroughly screened, making for a great community of both pet owners and sitters.

"Beautiful Molly in Chesham, UK"

I had the most wonderful time caring for Molly, a beautiful, sweet, clever labrador in Chesham, UK. Molly was a joy to care for and she was affectionate, playful and loved her walks and ball throwing and tug-o-war. Chesham is a beautiful area with lovely fields for dog walking and Jan is kind and considerate and her cottage is lovely and comfortable. I look forward to a return sit in October 2023.
