Reading plus doesn't let you change your reading speed. Reading plus needs more books to read, there's not enough books to read. DON'T LET YOUR SCHOOL USE THIS APP. Reading plus does not help anyone with reading.

Should at least have actual good books or novels
Doesn’t allow fast readers and locks them
All “books” are non fiction and written by what seem to be interns who know nothing about the topic, I can’t count how many things are inaccurate in the books
Makes reading a chore and not fun (opposite of what books should be)
Now thousands of kids won’t enjoy reading
Teachers, there are better sites for these things and if you don’t want a better site, physical books are on top.
Also they should make the reading ‘box’ toggle-able so users can use it if they prefer
If kids grow up reading they will have their own preferred way of reading so changing it with the box isn’t necessary the I - Rate should not be automatically set and adjusted by the student. This makes it so they can read in the way they want to, combined with adding actual novels instead of whatever nonsense they have now maybe reading plus can be an enjoyable reading site for its users.
Edit: some of the ‘books’ are straight up copy and pasted articles,I wouldn’t be surprised if half the stuff they have is AI generated

I hate it so much! I would much rather do anything else for homework. Reading Plus is so emotionally draining and has no interesting stories to read. It makes reading feel like a chore (which is against the entire point of its existence) and it makes thousands of children have a deep-rooted hatred for reading! It is one of the worst platforms and the stories we're forced to read seem to all be written by un-payed interns in trenchcoats. 100% my least favorite part about school and it should be abolished!

It’s not good for learning. It gives a lot of useless questions. It is frustrating because there are no good articles to read. Also it doesn’t let you read at your own pace. It puts a lot of pressure on students so I feel like they shouldn't make you focus on your reading speed. Also I know many people have complained about it because on average it's a one star rating and that's the lowest you can go. I will boycott reading plus because of the bad reading experience.

Reading plus actually sucks so bad, Im probably lucky since I only have to do it once a week for an hour (in school) but it makes me wanna rip my head off. The biggest issue is that you can't go back to re-read a paragraph and it sometimes randomly has a set reading pace for me which not even the teachers can disable it. The books are also god-awful and felt like they hired someone who was done with life, I also hate how you can't go back a question when you finish the book because my schools crappy chrome-books have automatically pressed a button and I can't go back. Oh and I cant forget to mention how stupid it is that you need a teacher to unlock it when you go too fast. And the website looks like a sh!t MySpace profile from 2006: It looks so outdated and bad. I hate this DONT waste your money on this crap. My school switched from accelerated reader (which is actually very good) to whatever low-budget lazy high-school assessment looking ahh this is.

This software is really bad it uses a system where parts of the book are blurred and you have to follow the line it you miss something you can't go back.

This site also doesn't take kindly to fast readers and locks them out which wasn't a smart idea to implement

"THIS SITE IS SO BAD"

my high school recently implemented reading+ as a lesson and mandatory homework and it is so horrendously rubbish and very obviously for children much younger then me and my classmates, even sparking a petition to ban it from the school, with 87 signatures. it has multiple cases of incorrect grammar including using the phrase 'vocabulary words' in the introduction. it is honestly laughable. my hate of reading+ (or reading minus, as i like to call it) is spread through my school, and everyone from the youngest (11) to the oldest (16) hates the system.
this should NEVER be used in a high school setting, as all the 'books' have hardly any content or depth, they just feel like shallow, censored versions of pre-existing books. I think i would have appreciated this when i was 5-7, but it is blatantly not for pre-teens and teens. if you are a teacher, spare your students from this anguish and just give them a damn book, or use the far superior bedrock english system.
