"Horrible recruiting agency, please avoid "

Horrible recruiting agency, they don't ever reply to emails, requests for JD, LinkedIn comments or simple questions. They don't follow up with candidates after interviews/phone calls and their attitude is quite rude, dismissive and cold (I've spoken to a few of them and it seems like this attitude is policy company wide). Please avoid, there are much better recruiting agencies out there.

"Contacted me when I didn't give them my details"

Randomly got a suspicious text saying 'Hello.. are you working or are you free today?' And when I asked who it was it was Olivia from Sphere recruitment offering me a job opportunity 🤦‍♀️ I'm not jobsearching so no clue how they got my information, but it was obtained without my permission.

"Contacted my mobile with “are you free…"

Contacted my mobile with “are you free today” no intro, no explanation of where they got my details from - offering a remote role, this reeks of data harvesting to me and I am pretty sure this is a marketing not recruitment agency! I asked that they remove my number as I never gave them permission in the first place!

"Spamming and manipulating"

Spamming and manipulating, and I'm not even close to be their target market. So they just annoy people that shouldn't reach in the place. You really need to loose any self respect for your brand to hire this company

"They reach out to me, then ghosting me...."

I had never heard of this company before, but they reached out to me on LinkedIn regarding a UX contract role. I responded to their message within an hour, providing all the information they requested, including my CV and other details. However, after that, they simply ignored me and didn’t even acknowledge receipt of my email.

I understand that recruitment ghosting is an issue in 2024, but in this case, they initiated contact. I appreciate that there may be hundreds of applicants, but when a company reaches out first and I make the effort to respond, it’s basic courtesy to reply and let me know whether or not they intend to proceed, even if it’s just to say, “We’ve decided not to move forward because of...”

I find this behaviour extremely unprofessional and quite rude. It reflects poorly on their reputation and creates a negative impression of their organisation.

These kind of experiences are shared within the UX Network and then some candidates will avoid some companies due to this.

P.S. I've read some of the feedback on this page and it seems like I'm not the only one.

"Sadly, nothing good to say."

I do not know what is the actual experience of people leaving 5-star reviews here, and what industries do they work in. By far my own worst experience with recruitment for roles in Social/Digital Marketing, and I have 15+ years experience in the industry, including high-profile clients and working with six-/seven-figure budgets as well as driving revenue on similar levels.

I have and worked with and through different London-based agencies, both recruitment and advertising ones, across past decade and a half, so I would say I have quite decent reference points and a good few of them.

To add, I have never experienced such a difficult relationship, or even inability, if not unwillingness, to form it, from an agency or recruiters.

As a candidate: consistently ignored, stonewalled, never getting any replies to emails; I quite frequently see their recruiters posting on social media about roles with interviews starting in 2 hours from posting and asking for DMs from candidates, or preemptively telling people they won't be contacted if unsuccessful (this is probably an attempt to manage expectations and avoiding being criticised for what essentially is ignoring people - but still sounds a bit off, and quite dismissive, unsympathetic and uncaring to a candidate).

I am an experienced candidate, and a professional good at what I do, always doing honest work and having plenty of references. I applied for several dozens of roles through that agency in the past couple years, and pretty much never got as much as a reply - let alone interview or actual work, even before the disclaimers started being added.

I tried finding solutions, sought guidance of senior management - not by complaining, mind. I tried asking questions and pleading to get advice in order to understand how things work with their agency, how to be on their books and actually considered for roles as and when they come up.

Same story, always ignored, seems to be the MO.

Tried consistently to work with them and make things happen for good 2 years if not more; at this point I am walking away - you have to know your boundaries.

All this (and some more) is not a way to do business or treat qualified candidates offering skills and help. It is a tough market for sure, but other agencies will get my business, and their clients will get my skills and my work.

"Don't waste your time "

Submitted my CV on the company website. I was reached out to by a recruiter regarding 2 positions, in this call he did rush through and didn't do much to explain the roles or understand me as a candidate.

I put forward my interest in one of the positions, only to be ghosted. Ridiculous and unprofessional. Having followed up 2 more times, nothing.Eventually, when he did email back with a one line email stating he'd be in touch, he in fact did not.

Disgusting to see that this is a pattern based on other peoples reviews. No integrity what so ever. Do not promise to follow up with candidates if you cannot deliver. Shows poor management and structure. No candidate should be subjected to this.
