"‼️ Scam"

‼️ Scam

Washing machine and dryer are broken.
▶️ On Nov 15, called a repair company to come.
▶️ On Nov 15, the repairman came, checked, and said it would cost $12xx. He said he would come back to fix it when the parts arrive.
▶️ On Nov 28, another repairman came but couldn’t fix it. He was talking to himself in English, saying he had cut the wires and didn’t know how to fix it. He also broke the door frame. Then he called a second repairman, and both were swearing in English thinking we couldn’t understand. After a few hours, they said they needed to buy parts and promised to come back the next day, Nov 29. I called the company the same day, and they said the repairman didn’t report anything about damaging our items, and they hadn’t received any report saying they would come the next day. We directly asked for a refund, and they said once the report was submitted, they would call us back the next day.
▶️ On Nov 29, no one called back. We called them, and they said they would respond the next day.
▶️ On Nov 30, no one called back. We called them, and they said they don’t work on holidays and would reply on Monday.
▶️ On Dec 2, no one called back. We called them, and they said they would reply the next day.
▶️ On Dec 3, they said no refund was possible. The report claimed that the repairman had fixed everything except for the control board. They also said they wouldn’t charge us the remaining $200 because they broke something. I called the manager, but they only trusted their report and wouldn’t listen to my side of the story, cutting me off.

1️⃣ Spread the word not to use this company.
2️⃣ Does anyone know how to file an effective complaint in Toronto?

"I wish I could give zero"

I wish I could give zero. The company that services the Waterloo area was horrible. The repair person came the same day which was helpful, although we could barely understand the poor fella. He charged us the $350/fee for visiting and then afterwards told us our washing machine needed a new seal and charged us $450 for the part and said they'd have to order it.. If the fella had done his job properly he would have noticed that our water issues were not coming from our washer and it was in fact not broken. When we figured this out we called to cancel the part which they said we could. They NOW REFUSE TO GIVE US THE $450 BACK. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND GET REAL PROFESSIONALS OUT. THESE PEOPLE ARE A SCAM!!!!!!!

"I wish I could rate them less than 1…"

I wish I could rate them less than 1 star! $80 fee is a scam! Technician knew it was the main control board on my washing machine from the start and knew I wouldn't replace it due to the cost. Ended up "playing" with the settings for an hour and charging me $255 + HST for an hour labour. At the end he unplugged the machine and told me to wait 4 hours to retry. Never did anything! Why not tell the customer it's the control board and charge the customer the $80 fee and leave. I would have paid for that. DO NOT BOTHER using this company. Multiple complaints all for the same reason.

"Poor customer service"

While the service may have initially looked good, The A Team Appliance Repair does not stand behind their service and if there are issues with the installation, they will not fix it without charging additional fees. This could have been easy and good service, but unfortunately it was not.

"Let’s start a class action lawsuit "

This company is trash and so are the people that work there . They had sent a tech out to work on my fridge , I was told there is a $80 dollar fee to come out which would go to the service fee if the we choose to do the service , overall I was charged $316 dollars and was told he was all done , he than made my husband sign off on which he thought was the receipt for the completed job , just to find out the issue was not fixed . The next day we had called the company and they were very disrespectful and adamant that we signed off on needing a part , in which the tech did not tel us we needed . I get to understand this is how to defraud people because the tech doesn’t verbally tell you a parts needed , they write it on the paper and have you sign with out your knowledge than ask you , if you don’t know how to read ! These people are wanting 400 dollars for a part after taking 316 dollars. I called the better business bureau and there is over 700 fraudulent complaints towards this company . I posting my telephone number , if anyone sees this reviews let’s start a class action lawsuit to get them out of business . 226-910-1934 please text lawsuit or just give me a call

"Scamsters and fraud alert."

Scamsters and fraud alert.

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the service provided by your authorized service partner, The A Team Appliance Repair, for my Frigidaire dishwasher. Unfortunately, my experience has been highly disappointing and has left me questioning the professionalism and integrity of your brand’s service partners.

Background
I live on 28 Stadium rd, and own a Frigidaire dishwasher that has not been cleaning dishes properly. After each cycle, food stains and detergent residue remained on the dishes, which prompted me to schedule a service appointment to address the issue. On October 20, 2024, I contacted your customer service team to book an appointment with The A Team Appliance Repair. During the call, I was clearly informed of the following terms:

There would be an $80 visiting fee, which would be waived if servicing was carried out.

Servicing would cost $280 + tax (a total of $316.40).

If any part replacement was required, the cost of the part would be additional.

I agreed to these terms and scheduled an appointment for the same afternoon at 2 PM.

What Transpired During the Service Visit

The technician, named Sam, arrived as scheduled. From the outset, his conduct and approach raised significant concerns:

Lack of Proper Servicing:

The technician’s actions during the appointment were questionable at best. He spent approximately 15 minutes merely observing the dishwasher cycle while simultaneously speaking on the phone. Afterward, he opened the lower cover of the machine, briefly glanced inside, and continued his phone conversation. It was evident that no meaningful or technical servicing was performed.

Unprofessional Behavior and Exorbitant Charges:

The technician then informed us that the water inlet valve needed to be replaced and quoted an additional charge of $420 for the part, excluding tax. When we questioned this, he rudely dismissed our concerns, stating that the total amount paid so far ($316.40) did not cover the part or its installation. When we said, you're charging us total of around $750 for this job, his exact words, “Then you should have gone for a new dishwasher,” were both unprofessional and offensive.
Discrepancies in Part Pricing:

To verify the technician’s claims, we searched online for the cost of a water inlet valve on Frigidaire’s official website. To our surprise, the part was listed for under $50. When we presented this information to the technician, he appeared baffled and confused (as he didn't expect we would google the price of the part) and insisted that $420 was their price, with no justification for the exorbitant markup.

Customer Service Interaction

Following this experience, I contacted your customer service team to report my concerns. Unfortunately, the responses I received only added to my frustration:
Initially, the representative contradicted the terms stated during the appointment booking, claiming that the additional cost for parts would not cover their installation.

After escalating the issue, I was offered a 10% discount on the $420 part charge, which I found insulting, considering the circumstances.

As an alternative, I was asked to pay an additional $150 for the technician to return and install the part if I purchased it myself. However, I was informed there would still be no warranty or guarantee that the dishwasher would be fully repaired.

These proposed solutions are unreasonable and fail to address the core issue: I have already paid $316.40 for a so-called service that was not performed, and your service partner attempted to charge me an inflated price for a part without providing any assurances regarding the quality of the repair.

oncerns Regarding Service Integrity

It has become evident that your service partner operates with highly questionable practices, including:
Charging exorbitant markups on parts.
Failing to perform adequate diagnostics or servicing.
Demonstrating unprofessional behavior and a lack of accountability.

I am shocked that such practices are being carried out under the Frigidaire brand and urge you to take immediate action to rectify this situation.
Request for Resolution

To resolve this matter fairly, I request the following:
The technician must provide the exact technical name and specifications of the required part.
I will purchase the part myself.
The technician must return to installing the part at no additional cost, as I have already paid $316.40 for the service, which has not been fulfilled.
This experience has been both frustrating and disheartening. I expected professionalism and reliability from a brand like Frigidaire, but instead, I feel scammed and mistreated.
I trust you will investigate this matter thoroughly.

"Scam artists"

Scam artists! these people need to be taken to court. The technician came and barely touched the damn fridge and asked for $320 telling my wife we need to order a repair part that would cost $500, which we thankfully did not pay, turns out it costs $160 on Walmart. ca. Made my wife pay $320 for "servicing" and said he would install the part at no extra charge as we're paying now. Next day my wife calls the company to schedule the installation and the lady who answerd the phone curtly said installation will be charged separately. These people should be booked for running a scam in broad daylight.

"Would have given no stars if I could"

Would have given no stars if I could. They took my 89 yr old mother for $1000 & she still had to buy a new stove. They are thieves. She has been waiting for her refund cheque...I get a different story every time I call. We should do a class action suit. There are so many combines with the Better Business Bureau.

"Why why why did I not read the reviews…"

Why why why did I not read the reviews before calling this scam company? Expensive lesson. $3,300 later and my oven still does not work and they were trying to get more money from me (thousands more - they know a sucker when they see one) ! I have investigated legal complaints but I have learned that, even if you get a judgment in small claims court against them you are responsible for collecting it! Not to mention the fees to file in the first place. This company has the whole system figured out. They are making lots and lots of money out of people like me who trust without checking first.

"If I could give 0 stars I would"

If I could give 0 stars I would. Had a technician come out on a Sunday to fix my dryer. He told my husband it was the computer and he needed 30 mins to fix and it would cost us $320+tax. He said wait for 70 mins before testing. Well, 70 mins came and went and the dryer isn't fixed and the company is refusing to come back out - regardless that we have this "one year warranty" on service. AVOID THEM! They should not be in business!
