"Unpleasant experiences- rigid and not client centred"

My 18 year old child arranged their own initial conversation with this organisation. She didn’t realise it was for a full assessment with a clinical psychologist for £225. We needed to pay in full prior to the appointment. As we’d found a different team, we needed to cancel it, but only gave them 24hrs notice. Child didn’t appreciate it had to be cancelled with 48 hrs notice. They wouldn’t budge on waiving this fee despite me speaking with the service manager. It was a truly unpleasant conversation by a rigid, money oriented organisation. I felt their service manager’s attitude over the phone was completely unhelpful and inappropriate given they are providing psychological services for vulnerable people. It didn’t feel like a good fit. Then I received a letter from a debt collector company, Medical Billing Direct. I paid promptly via them. Today I received a further email from The London Centre for Eating Disorders reminding me to pay. I have emailed them to point out there is a breakdown in communication between the 2 companies. Beware and hope others may learn from our very unpleasant experiences

I would highly recommend The London Centre. The staff were incredible and the treatment really helped. I'm so glad to have my life back on track and really owe it to the excellent quality of therapy.
