This is not a review of the actual build of my CamperKing conversion (St Tropez), this is a review of the pre and post sales/support of CamperKing.
Brief history...
I spent 47K on a 6 month old Transporter 6.1
conversion by CamperKing
Additional items such as a tow bar 13 pin
CamperKing carpets
Side bars etc...
I understand with all new builds some things go wrong, which I was expecting.
so In the 4 weeks I have had my conversion, the following things have failed/broke
1/ Transporter heater doesn't work (since pick up), can't change the temperature.
2/ R&R bed failed on our first night away
3/ carpets still not delivered after 4 weeks and promises made several times.
4/ Installed a 7 pin electrics on towbar instead of 13 pin
Now these are silly little things, but as they are silly, they should have been checked when installed. There is an argument that I should have checked a few things, the heater control in the vehicle I would not have checked this, the carpets were missing and I had to remind them when I went to pick up the vehicle, I saw the detachable towbar at the back of the vehicle so never checked the electrics and I did try the bed once as it was part of the handover, so not sure why this failed on the second time.
Item 1
The heater is just an inconvenience, as I have to take this to a VW main dealer for it to get fixed, and has been booked in under warranty in the next few weeks to get fixed once and for all (this will be 6 weeks having the vehicle). **** almost 8 weeks since having the vehicle, VW have now replaced the full heater unit, and everything works.
Item 2
Called the service team in the morning, where I had to again call the following day to speak to someone, the issue was the R&R bed, I had to almost jump on the head rest area to flat the bed out, and again to move the bed to the seating position.
Service team advised to hit with a hammer, at this time, I managed to get it sort of working, but still not right.
***** Had a good look at the mechanism, we will be away for a few days soon, and if this still has problems, CamperKing will replace the bed if needed.
Item 3 is now resolved, Money returned.
Item 4, since purchased the correct gender and converter all seems to work ok, the only issue now is that if I ever decide to get a caravan or something that requires powering on something, the 7 pin will not work with this.
I understand that the 7 pin is cheaper than the 13 pin option. so not sure how this stands in costings when we require updating 7 to 13 pin.
Other than that...
**** Completely Redeemed CamperKing assisted trying to help thank you Simon, however, No one actually contacted me, I had to send an email via the web site for anyone to respond. FYI.
Again these are only small things, please, what ever you decide to do, please consider them for the conversion.

"Monte Carlo LWB - great service…"
We purchased a Monte Carlo LWB conversion last Autumn but couldn't collect until January this year as the camper was a showroom demonstrator. Due to the current lockdown restrictions, CK arranged to have the camper delivered to us which was brilliant for us. When it arrived, there were a couple of missing items but following a short exchange of emails, these were forwarded to us by courier. We couldn't fault Jack Grey who has been excellent throughout and has really gone the extra mile for us. We would definitely recommend CK to anybody that is thinking of purchasing a camper.
