"From my first exchange with OxiMedical …"

From my first exchange with OxiMedical online I found them to be extremely professional and helpful in answering my questions. They have an office/store in Denver so we were able to pick up the equipment the next day instead of having to wait for it to be shipped. I am very happy with their customer service.

"Misrepresentation"

Misrepresentation: I thought that the man at the desk in the lobby of OxiMed in Phoenix was acting as a receptionist. I told him I had spoken with someone in the Service Dept. by phone about bringing in my Imogen3 for service and possibly getting a loaner since I was scheduled to leave on a 3- day vacation that day. He asked about the problem and then told me that repairs would be so expensive that I'd be better off buying a new Imogen. Because I was stressed and anxious, I didn't insist on seeing the service rep immediately. Because I wanted to leave on vacation, I was an easy target. Because a friend was waiting for me to pick her up to begin our trip, I impulsively opted to buy a new Imogen.

Within a few days of my return home I received a phone message from the OxiMed service rep I had spoken with initially. I returned his call to learn that my "old" Imogen had been repaired, would cost $xxx (much less than the cost of new equipment), and was ready for pick-up. Now it appears that the sales rep had not only misled me but may have also misled the Service Dept.

I'm fortunate to have an OxiMed facility in my city. I have dealt with them on the purchase and repairs of two larger portable O2 concentrators and the Imogens described above. Until this last encounter I have always been very pleased by and satisfied with the professional and courteous treatment by this company's staff and with the equipment I've purchased. I'm not sure how to proceed. The path of least resistance is to simply keep the new device and not pick up the old, but there's an odor about the process that offends me.
