When we began developing Buy Me a Coffee in 2018, our aim was to eliminate complexities and provide creators with an easy way to receive payments and engage with their fans. However, simplicity alone wasn't sufficient. Creators needed a platform that was both meaningful and enjoyable to use. This required designing a payment system that didn't feel purely transactional, starting with the name itself.
