"I put in an affordabilty complaint 15…"

I put in an affordabilty complaint 15 weeks and 5 days ago. I had an email 14th feb saying they needed an extra 4 weeks as it was a detailed case although i had provided them with all evidence they asked for to back my complaint!? I have emailed several times and still no reply!
Also for over a year i have been trying to change my repayment dates to no avail. They say we will change it and don't! Meaning my repayment is always 2 weeks late! I have NEVER missed a single repayment yet i owe more and more money as each payment is made. I point it out ti them they just say were sorry we told you we would change date but haven't we will do it next month because it's too late to do it this month. And interest rates are capped! Capped at what because i've been paying every month. Infact i've already paid more than double what i originally borrowed and haven't missed a payment! It still hasn't happened! Oh yeah and before they started apologising and actually acknowledged they had lied they were saying they couldn't speak via email only phone. I told them i have severe anxiety and as previous phone calls had left me in a state i would prefer email contact. They started getting at my guarantor asking for payments!! This month they have messaged her saying they tried to change payment date but i wouldn't do it! LIES! I can't keep calm about this company. They need investigating because i swear the way they do buisness is probably illegal! So they won't change repayment dates meaning the total i owe will only ever go up! And they don't answer complaints just tell you to go to the ombudsman!

Just thought i would update....
After amigo replied on here i recieved an email basically telling me to shut up putting it on here! They will answer or go to the ombussman. No timescale given! They're answer to the repayment date change was they WILL NOT do it. Just make an extra payment! And as for the no date change because it's already been changed 5 times i have listened to my disc and in two calls with them i said i get paid different dates every month to which they replied ot's ok you CAN just change the date! No mention of only been able to do this 5 times.
And as for the complaint itself i still haven't had a reply. It will be 20weeks on friday since i made the complaint!
For a company who's supposed to be regulated is this actually acceptable behaviour?

"Absolutely shambolic complaint handling process"

After 12 weeks of waiting for a complaint for unaffordable lending was put in I am absolutely disgusted at the way Amigo Loans handle their complaints process. I have tried numerous times to bring to their attention that the claimant is critically ill in hospital Amigo simply do not want to know! Keep getting the same generic response of “it hasn’t been looked at yet and we don’t know when it will be”

Even after getting the Financial Ombudsman involved they are still ignoring their requests to co-operate and send the case file over to them!

Thankfully a national newspaper has decided to take on the story given the severity of the situation.

!!!ABSOLUTELY AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

"Why does nobody answer the phone or respond to emails have been attempting to contact to make a payment"

I have been trying to contact amigo loans since last Fri. The number just plays the same loop of music over and over nobody answers. I have emailed twice and also texted the number that texted me. All I want to do is give you my new card number to take payment (from a loan that is 12 years old, originally a measly £1500 and not mine however I landed the unfortunate role of being guarantor, why you do not write off the debt that you have more than doubled is beyond me as it has been so long). Anyway, I see that you are responding to all of the trust pilot reviews so why is nobody answering the phone or responding to client emails? The online site will not let me make a payment as it is less than £5 and also automatically asks me for £151. Ridiculous.

"My improved rating solely relates to..."

My improved rating relates solely to... the admirable way Amigo staff are tolerating the extremely high levels of abuse on here and still responding in a professional manner. I personally cannot understand the difficulty some people have expressed they have had in applying 'breathing space'?, calls are extremely high atm so why call?, simply . Log into your account...fill in the form...submit?. Payments are PAUSED ny the system immediately when this procedure is followed automatically so you then just wait. If people cannot log in, it is most likely because their mobile numbers through which a code is required to log in are inaccurate, that's hardly Amigo's fault is it?. All that is required to log in is your date of birth (which I would presume everybody knows) and the mobile number Amigo have on file through which they can send a authentication code, they are not ging to know you have changed your number if nobody tells them. it really is not a complicated process at all.

Again, I absolutely do not work for Amigo, I can assure you, I have my own issues with them as many people have, the pressure I am under is immense, but... that should not mean I or anyone starts to get personal with comments in anger, think for a moment how you would feel as a mere employee of Amigo having to read what I would class as some really vile things to state about anyone or any company for that matter...it is actual 'people' who are reading and responding to those comments not the Amigo building?, people earning a living just like us, imagine the potential for negative psychological impact on them reading and responding to, in some comments, inhumane statements day in, day out

Don't get me wrong, I do sympathise with everyone, some very valid points I totally agree with, I have been there and am still there with my share of frustrations and grievances, Amigo have areas that require vast improvement and they can only improve but please spare a thought for the impact on the poor individual actually reading 'Utter Scum'...'Hope they all catch coronavirus' etc...I know if I did work for them, I would take that home with me, if not already at home at this present time.

My opinion...It's not nice, not humane, not necessary.

"Complaint"

I submitted a complaint 13 weeks ago well before coronovirus and im still waiting for a final response, I feel they are using the pandemic as a delay tactic or for terrible customer service. They have still got time to ruin people's lives though by reading the rest of the reviews.

"Acting as a guarantor and I would not…"

Acting as a guarantor and I would not recommend. My son has been laid off because of covid19 and when we’ve tried to get a payment holiday for him they’ve made it as hard as possible for us to make contact. Tried to fill in the online questionnaire which took 2 weeks to get a response from to which they said because I as guarantor filled it in as my son can’t access his online account or get support to unlock, they couldn’t consider! Didn’t mind chasing me for the money yesterday though which I’ve paid on top of all my own bills. I’m the only earner in this house at the moment so didn’t make contact lightly. My advice. Go elsewhere for a loan. It’s really not worth the hassle And we’ve definitely given up!

"Unprofessional company"

Unprofessional company, will use unlawful scare tactics to target vulnerable people. Tell lies to get money. Chase after guarantors for enormous sums of money that they never borrowed. Charge unproportionate amounts of interest. Unwilling to help or negotiate with customers in financial difficulties. They charge interest when loans are in default while other more professional companies would not as they understand that this is causing undo hardship. Avoid at all costs. Anyone who reads this and uses them need to have their head examined. The government should investigate this company, others who treated their customers fairly have been investigated. How are they still in business?! Regarding your reply below would rather have 100 payday loans than ever use you it would absolutely cost less and be treated more fairly. Especially considering you add on interest to defaults meaning the guarantor is pushed into hardship for money they DID NOT BORROW. Hope you all get made redundant!

"Acting as a gurantor - i would not recommend."

My friend had needed a same day loan and used Amigo loans. Acting as a gurantor, I found that the process took over a week to get a decision. I had to constantly ring them with the same pieces of information.

Even just getting through to speak to someone took hours, and as i was at work, it was not a good situation.

It was an awful experience.

"“Legal” loan sharks"

I asked for the extended breathing space because I was without income from March-June due to Covid 19 as my company is still trying to sort out furlough and I’m not getting paid anything until then. What did amigo do well they said to me they wouldn’t take a payment whilst they looked into the matter and next minute I find out a payment was taken from my guarantor and they declined my extended breathing space because it was unnecessary! One I wouldn’t be asking for it if it was unnecessary and two this is just a marketing stunt for you guys as you’re declining most requests so when the nock on your door you can say this is an option that you provide your customers without really doing anything for them!

"Awful"

Lockdown announced and due to me being self employed for the last 2 months and being told I wouldn’t get support from the government and that I had to stop work, I decided to call Amigo and ask what the possibilities were going forward if I could delay a payment for a month so I could get better prepared and sort my finances out incase the worse came to the worse and I lost all income.

Flat out refused and instantly contacted my guarantor by text saying they will take payment off them which of course put the scares on them when all I done was ask for a tiny bit of help for a single month to get things in order.

Absolutely no help at all even when the government are asking firms to be helpful during these unprecedented times.

I’ll smash the loan out and pay it off before my time is up like the last one - however I’ll never use you again because I won’t forget how badly you treat customers

There’s absolutely no point in the rubbish responses you’ve given to the numerous people below with 1 star ratings. The moment you ask for help the guarantor gets it in the neck which is ridiculous.

Every single creditor has been fantastic during these times except Amigo and I’ll make sure everyone knows how awful you’ve treated customers
