"Direct debit"
Overall I was happy with the service once loan was completed.
I was able to pay loan off early and make a final settlement once account was closed they took a further payment the day after. They added interest and have offered me a lower amount than what they took after my final settlement telling me there was interest to be added. The amount of interest does not add up to the amount amigo has taken.
I would advise to cancel direct debit straight away as Amigo will take more than what they are owed hence the 2 stars plus I have not been paid the money back after weeks of paying up in full. I also have to call them to give bank details as they wipe your account details although they owe you.

"Stay Well Away! Super Claim In Progress!!"
I took out a loan for £5,000 in 2013 and kept up with my repayments until 2015 when the full balance was repaid and the agreement concluded. In 2020 a company approached me and advised that I could be due compensation from Amigo and a complaint was filed for miss-lending. Amigo agreed that they were at fault, and compensated both myself and the guarantor.
It was clearly wrong of me to make a complaint, as this resulted in Amigo deciding that I now somehow owe them just over £600, which they have now marked on my credit file, although I've not received any formal demand for payment in two years.
I recently checked my credit file and noticed that Amigo has been sending updates to the credit reference agencies on a monthly basis for the past 2 years, but still I have heard nothing about this during that time. When I queried this with them, they advised that this was the amount I owe them following the outcome of my complaint in 2022 relating to my credit agreement of 2013. I advised them that this agreement now falls outside of the statute of Limitations act and as per the Consumer Credit Act, requested a copy of a valid credit agreement for this amount. The company simply sent me a copy of the original agreement and declined my request to remove the data from my credit file.
When I threatened them with the Financial Ombudsman, they advised that there is a 'super claim' with them currently and so the ombudsman would not intervene. So as far as I'm concerned, that means they think they can do whatever they want until the super claim is concluded and they go out of business (or not).
I really hope this company loses its credit license soon because the way they milk everyday people for ridiculous amounts of money is horrendous.

"Very poor experience"
Very poor experience. Was a guarantor for a relative. The original loan ammount was extended without consulting me. The loan was then not paid and serious arrears were allowed to build up, not a word from amigo to prevent it happening. Ended up paying thousands more in totally avoidable arrears. Be careful , nothing better than back street loan sharks.

"No go to Amigo"
Don't consider this company when you are looking for a loan.
I did and my daughter was my guarantor.
After a year of paying this loan I became ill and could not work.
I rang them up explaining my difficulties and that I was seeking help from stepchange debt charity.
And they took me straight to court,I wasn't able to obtain legal advice and so obviously amigo won by default.
I still have long term depression and a ccj so a big no thanks amigo.

"It's really not worth it."
Took a loan out when I was desperate, felt like a noose around my neck for a very long time. The amount I paid back on top of the existing loan was staggering, borrow £10,000 paid back £23,700. Its really not worth the stress, loan shark Company's like this should be banned. Never in my life will I ever use amigo again.

"DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE"
I'm a garentor to a loan taking out and I get more hassle then amigo loans trying to help the debitor with the repayments. The person who took out the loan fell sick from work and amigo weren't willing to help him. So in result I got bombarded by the company for money even though the person taking out the loan was willing to make some payment until getting back on there feet.
Also each month they were extra paid on the loan and the loan is due to be finished next month and the person who took the loan made a partial payment as we would be finished the loan a month ahead of schedule and I was once again bombarded with emails saying account in arrers when the account had extra paid each Monet once account got up to date.
They don't help people and you come out worse before the loan even started.
This is a company that pray on the weak and feck them over.
STAY AWAY PEOPLE.
