I went into Foulds Guitars in search of a hard case for a very old bass guitar.
I was desperate to get my late Dad’s guitar over to my brother in NYC but everyone and everywhere I asked told me they didn’t have a case suitable (it was very old and fragile). The guys at Foulds were completely different. They weren’t going to give up and kept bringing out different cases to try. They showed a lot of respect for the guitar that obviously meant a lot to me and eventually found a case suitable. They then searched for a cardboard box that would be fit for shipping it in and brought out loads of packaging to make sure it was secure (and charged no extra).
They gave me so much advice about how to make sure it was secure, what to do and what not to do, researched into the value of it so to advise me what to insure it for etc etc etc.

They were amazing and so passionate and just generally such kind hearted people.
I sent the guitar exactly how they advised and with the company they advised and it got there (UK to NYC) within 1 working day and amazingly all in one piece!

I will forever be grateful for the respect, advice and just general loveliness about something that meant so much to me.

"Guitar Reborn after 58 years"

I have a guitar hand made by my father in 1964. Overtime the guitar dried, out as central heating and time took their toll. The instrument became unplayable due to faults which meant it could no longer take the stresses involved. Obviously a sentimental piece, I sought a place that could look at this guitar with a view to repair. After many searches, I took it to Foulds in Derby. Great news, it could be repaired and were confident it would play again! They had to dismantle the guitar. The guitar was completely rebuilt and refinished. It now plays again and I have not heard it sound so good since it was first made. The repair specialist said it was a labour of love and a challenge that he relished. We both ended wiser and I had my beautiful guitar again. I am absolutely delighted by the help and assistance Foulds have given me, in particular the gentleman who put in so much time and care into bringing the instrument back to life and for keeping me updated as the repair was made. I would not hesitate to recommend Foulds for your instruments. Nowhere will you find a better and more caring shop/dealer that would give such service. Thank you so much.

Foulds Guitar Shop on The Strand in Derby is Excellent. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Every guitar they sell is worth the money they ask. I highly recommend them to all from beginner to professional guitarists. If you don't know Derby then get some directions before you go as The Strand is not the easiest place to find for a stranger to the city.
