"Wondering if the product is real"

I ordered a lb bag of DE apparently around the time the FedEx warehouse in Memphis (where my order was) had a bad snowstorm delay but at the time I didn't know it so I contacted diatomaceousearth.com via email to ask why my order is so late, no answer, they never responded back.. So I've only used one other bag of DE from a feed store (different brand) before and I noticed the feed store brand tasted like dirt and was thicker, however this brand has no taste whatsoever and devolves easier, which normally would be a good thing only now it makes me wonder if it's truly diatomaceous earth since I've always heard people say that it tastes much like dirt.

"Pretty sure this whole company is a…"

Pretty sure this whole company is a scam. If you're considering purchasing from them, please take a look at the reviews. Before I ordered from DE, I was under the impression that they were a great company because there are so many positive reviews. However I'm convinced those are fake. This company is a nightmare.
I made a mistake during my order, apparently an unfixable one. I put the wrong address in (quarantine got me confused) and didn't realize it until the second I finalized the order. Within MINUTES I sent DE an email asking to change my address. The next day I emailed again because I wanted this fixed asap. Along with that email I also sent one as a reply to my order confirmation email. I also messaged their Facebook page. I just woke up to an email stating my order has been shipped, despite SEVERAL attempts to cancel it (at first I wanted the address changed, but quickly realized these people are a*sholes and I wanted my money back). I just sent another Facebook message, but I'm sure I won't hear Thank god I was careful and bought a cheap bag of DE.

tl;dr DiatomaceousEarth.com is a scam. I havent even used their product but considering how bad customer service is, I don't trust it one bit.

"Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth almost BLINDED my dog!"

This company is among the worst I've ever dealt with. We purchased a 5lb bag of diatomaceousearth.com's food grade DE and sprinkled some of it around the perimeter of our home. More than 24hrs later, we went outside with our dog to let her potty in the part of the yard close to the area in which it had been used (we didn't want to immediately allow her near it because it is a new product for us and didn't want to chance any negative reactions). We had not been outside more than 5 minutes, she did her business and came in. Not long after, we noticed that her eyes were completely swollen shut. We immediately took her to our (24hr) veterinarian. There was no doubt the DE had caused this, as our vet had seen these types of reactions many times before. Six days later, she is still on drops and ointment every hour, pain meds, antibiotics, and still is so photosensitive that she has to wear goggles to go outside to go potty, we have to keep the lights off inside, and the curtains closed.
I called diatomaceousearth.com to warn them of this side effect/reaction, and a woman named 'Nicole' answered. Her immediate response was "I put DE in my eyes all the time and have never had anything bad happen and don't even wear goggles with it." (Who responds with something like that?!!!!) She also claimed that hundreds of thousands of people use "her" product and she's never had a single complaint about "her" company, and that there must have been something else my dog had a reaction to. I asked to speak to a manager because I would like to send pictures so others could be aware of what happened and in her extreme rudeness, Nicole said, "Nope, there's nobody here, have a good day." And she hung up on me. I called back 3 more times and each time Nicole answered (after the 2nd, she didn't use her name at all), and I said that I'd like to speak to a manager please, each time she said, "nope, have a good day," and hung up on me. I called back a few hours later and got ''Becky'' (Beck was not rude) who gave me a number to a 'Cory Bethel,' apparently in sales (435-676-8151). The number does not work. I looked up through a business contact site that we belong to that provides corporate/CEO contact info, and tried to get ahold of Kris Stowell (apparent co-owner), and 2 other people who were in charge of major parts of the company. I was able to leave a message at the 'wholesale' line (805-880-1979), but it took many attempts to even get a voicemail to pickup. Of course, there has been no response/no call back.
For a company to be so hateful, when all I am concerned with is my own dog's wellbeing and to warn them and others as to what this product is capable of, is beyond unacceptable. I never asked for any money, not even for compensation for the bag we purchased, just some respect and concern from the company itself!
We will be filing a BBB claim as well as sending more messages to all of our business associates and contacts. Please look up not only the problems with using food grade DE, but also the customer complaints with the actual company diatomaceousearth.com, as a whole. There are an abundance of complaints and concerns.

"Wrong product and customer on hook for return costs"

I was excited to get a product to use around my cat and when it arrived it was NOT what I had ordered. I contacted the company and they told me I could send it back, at my own expense, and they would then issue me a refund. The reason I'm upset about this is it's going to cost almost as much as the refund to send it back so I'll still be out the money. Just be careful and know your paying for it one way or another even if it's the wrong product.

"Packaging and Shipping"

This review is based on the shipping and delivery of the product to me.

I received my order late due to the fact the website hadn't processed it; I had to call the company and have them manually process it. When I was delivered the package I noticed it was in a thin postal office package, not a box. Considering I was getting a powder that could easily bust in a bag, I was surprised.

When I opened the package I had noticed the Diatomaceous Earth product all over the bag, I had to clean off the bag, and I discovered a hole in the bag. I reached out to the customer service and they said to send a photo to be shipped a replacement.. I did, but I haven't heard back yet.

My only complaint is to please improve your packaging for shipping product.

"I live in Oceanside California and …"

I live in Oceanside California and behind my home there are rows of tomato growers...a good place to where I let my dog run free as the wind (big mistake with this dog) The reason my dog became ill is because I gave my dog too much freedom to run around while my wife and I were keeping a close watch on her (the dog) I adapted this dog from the Oceanside animal shelter and as I am writing this she is now about 3.5 years old. It is a cross breed between a Zchnauzer and a poodle. a good dog in many ways but she has her bad habits. She is now infected with some type of stomach problem...have been to the Vet twice to get her well and the Vet has suggested to do a complete clean out of the stomach and this is something I believe is too hard on the dog...with no guarantees will make it through. A good friend of mine told me to try and give her DIATAMATIOUS EARTH for animals (it is a very fine powder), now don't confuse this product with the type used in Swimming pools.
My dog has lost quite a bit of weight and I am hoping she will recover in time. I give her a teaspoon of DE for the morning feeding and one in the evening. Wish me luckj.
