At first I was very hopeful but now I'm not. I think people should still try this though, it's really the best thing you can do if you have high rent in Berlin. To try this.

Update 01/2020:
When the process started and I didn’t get updates, I emailed to ask about it regularly until I was basically told that they would say something if anything happened. A year passed, I wrote this review and got the comment below. They gave a brief update saying it’s the courts’ fault. Sometime in the fall of 2019 I was told I got an offer and to ask if I was okay with it. I said yes, haven’t heard anything since. So I’ve been spoken to about three times in nearly two years. As an expat with little literacy for the system here, this can be a very discouraging and frustrating experience.

My situation remains the same, very little communication and no response to emails. Legal procedure and circumstance aside, the lack of communication is unacceptable. Process started in March of 2018.

It's now November 2021 and my case was finally won. Great! Communication remained incredibly poor throughout with a brief improvement when deadlines were involved followed by an immediate drop in quality again. There's a lot of English in the automatic emails and on the sites but I haven't had success getting an English speaker on the phone. They ignore emails no matter which language they are written in. Even with the win, I cannot recommend this service. The process has been really depressing and I don't feel like I can trust the service. Even my payout is going wrong and no one seems to really care.

I genuinely am not sure if I will see my money this year because they didn't even notice the mistake. Money was sent to Conny (mistakenly) in the beginning of November 2021, we are approaching December. We keep getting told they will call back, I have yet to receive a direct response to any emails I have written. Of course, they already have their cut so I'm sure it's not a problem for them anymore to ignore my messages. Why do you still have my money Conny??!

UPDATE #5
We are quickly heading toward a month of Conny being informed they have my money and we are already more than a month past them having my money (thousands of Euros). They were mistakenly transferred my money by the housing management company and they are now holding it. Every time we call, we are given the runaround. They keep requesting an email from me confirming my bank information—this is already strange because they have had my information for a while now. Sometimes we are told that the information has been forwarded. No one ever contacts us. The last person refused to connect us with someone who can actually tell us what is happening. She only said that they would send it, not when, if ever. My boyfriend, who recently started helping me with the calls actually asked me if this company is a scam company because he was so shocked by the lack of professionalism. No one has even so much as apologized for the confusion and delay. Despicable.
