"My lockdown hero"

Matthew is one of the best trainers you will ever come across! He is encouraging, motivating and super knowledgable and passionate about what he does. The workouts are varied & tough but he makes them fun & never ever makes you feel excluded if you can’t keep up! Throughout this lockdown period I’ve become fitter, more energised, have muscles in places I didn’t realise you were supposed to have muscles plus through his support I am totally motivated to push it even further. I don’t actually know how I would be getting through this lockdown period without him. The only negative I can think of is that sometimes the music choices are a bit ropey...ha ha!

"Awesome. Thank you."

I turned 40 last year and put on half a stone overnight...
I started with Matt on a recommendation from my builder with a view of getting a bit fitter and fixing an ongoing shoulder issue.
Matt broke me on my first session. Turns out I haven't been using my Core at all! After 3 days of DOMS (who even knew they had a name) I was itching to return.
Matt has slowly built my core strength with weekly 1-2-1 sessions and a series of programmes for a busy working Mum. He's even been with me through my no-alcohol-February (shortest month) and even got me doing a Detox and a 3-day diet (it's 7 days, don't let him kid you).
Now we are in Lockdown, I think I am fitter than ever! Matt has created a community of people who meet virtually each morning for a variety of Conditioning and HIIT. I attend what I can and run when I can't face it - LOL. It's very accessible and, even though I'll be one of the least fit, I don't feel intimated. All levels are made to feel very welcome and you can click out when you feel you have done what you can.
Matt also pays attention to the mind and mental wellbeing; sometimes it feels like he's reading mine on the Zoom calls.
And finally and importantly..... he's not attempted to stop me drinking wine. Can't recommend him enough.

"Online Workouts"

Done a few of Matts online workouts i have found them to be very clear with a variety of exercises and workouts aimed at all levels. Have discovered muscles i never knew existed I would definitely recommend this guy, he is professional and very passionate at what he does.

"The best trainer."

Absolutely superb trainer.
I first came to see Matt as a guy into my 40’s, putting on weight and struggling with exercise following multiple injuries. And now two years later, the injuries are long forgotten and I am fitter and stronger than I have been for a very long time.
Matt is not only hugely knowledgable in many types of training but also hugely motivating. No two sessions are the same, are always great fun and yet kill me every time.
Matt’s skill and knowledge are second to none, but his personal touch takes his service to the next level. Quite simply the best - cheers Matt!

"Matt is the best PT ......."

Matt is the best PT I have ever had personal train me. He inspires me, motivates me and gives me the confidence to push my fitness to the next level. I’ve never been fitter. I can honestly say that my sessions with him are seriously tough, but they are my favourite time of the week.

"I'm really enjoying Matt's online…"

I'm really enjoying Matt's online sessions. After having a baby last year and recovering from several injuries, I needed a kick start to get back training and Matt's HIIT classes were the perfect start I needed. Each session is varied yet tailored and Matt encourages everyone to train within their own limits and giving alternatives for the 'less fit' amongst us.
Before having children I personal trained with Matt and he was an excellent coach, driving me to succeed but encouraging me to know my own limits too.

"The Master Trainer"

When it comes to the health & fitness industry, many 'commentators' talk a good game. The country is overflowing with Personal Trainers. However, having worked as a detective at New Scotland Yard, I'm used to spotting criminals.
Matthew Copp (The Performance Trainer) is a true and rare diamond amongst an industry of costume jewellery.
I first trained with Matthew in 2004 and over the years he has become a lifelong personal friend. Matthew has not only improved all elements of my fitness but has been a huge influence in changing my outlook on the fitness industry and my training goals. He has inspired a massive adaptation both mentally and physically. Matthew has changed my body composition beyond recognition but it became so much more than that. In pushing myself to personal limits and boundaries, I learnt the importance of mental strength over physical. With Matthew I learnt the personal battles of true grit and honesty within within the field of fitness and training. He taught me that I am my own competitor and the realisation that it's your mind not your body which sets you apart. I am constantly learning from Matthew.
Matthew uses genuine knowledge and experience to put the achievement of results into scientific practice. He has taken me on a mental and physical journey that cannot be surpassed. He has never underestimated me and he has never let me down.
Matthew has witnessed personal highs and lows including true euphoria after giving everything in a personal battle of spirit to feeling disappointment on the train home in the honest knowledge I hadn't quite given my best. These moments were all part of personal growth.
Some of my most gruelling moments include:
Matthew patting my back at the Clapham bandstand while I was being sick following sprints then insisting we continue our training; being halfway up 'Death Hill' in Richmond and Matthew announcing we were going to do it again but this time he was going to use pulley straps to pull me back as I gained momentum..
Highlights include receiving his rapturous applause at the top of Death Hill followed by 'Don't you dare stop in front of the War Heroes Memorial' to reaching PBs in strength and running sessions. These are some of my fondest memories.
Matthew possesses a good sense of humour along with the professionalism to know when not to mess about. He has not once used a mobile phone in my presence and the only time I ever remember him being late or missing a training session was so that he could be present at the birth of his son Ethan.
We have shared so many moments of side splitting laughter and banter from Clapham to Richmond, through pregnancy with my first son and now on to training remotely via Zoom direct from the Surrey Hills! (Matthew will not approve of this)
Matthew has been an inspiration. It takes true passion in your field to become an inspirational leader. A great athlete doesn't necessarily equate to an inspirational teacher. In Matthew's case, there is both.
A journey from our 20s right up to our 40s and hopefully beyond, Matthew has made me a better version of myself. He has put the brain into my muscles and I now feel I have a rounded education. My children have something great to imitate and this will be passed on to future generations.
You could do not better than to work with this man. He tightens the slack, toughens the body and polishes the spirit. A true professional. A true friend. A gentleman. A family man to Gemma, Ethan and Charlie. The 'Pai Mei' of the fitness industry. I am proud to be the Student of the Master Teacher. Look no further for your training than this man. I present to you Matthew Copp.....

"Amazing PT in Woking!"

I first saw Matthew as a PT in Woking, he is such an amazing person with so much knowledge and knows how far to push you to reach your full potential. He makes every session fun (and hard) and has an amazing playlist! Haha. Matthew creates personalised programs tailored to your needs and level and follows your progress to adjust it as time goes on. I’ve recently been in France and he is doing online group sessions which are just as hard but just as great. I couldn’t recommend him enough and recommend seeing him whatever your level and needs.

"Best trainer around"

I have trained with Matt for the last 4 years on a one to one basis and more recently through the daily online live sessions he runs. Although I expected the sessions to be amazing due to the fact Matt is a brilliant trainer with immense expertise, drive and knowledge even I was absolute blown away by the effectiveness, effort and energy Matt put into each sessions. Each session is different, engaging and will challenge (in a good way) even the fittest of people. The range of the classes from HIIT, conditioning, dumbbell to weights caters for every level. Alternate exercises are always provided in order to prevent injuries. I have seen the results of the HIIT and conditioning sessions within a few weeks and have recommended Matt’s sessions to all my friends. Join one of the sessions and I guarantee you will be hooked!
