I had a great experience selling my home in Silicon Valley using Homebay. The team was very responsive to all of my questions and requests. After a few days of private showings and a very busy weekend of open houses, we sold with multiple offers and the closing went flawless. Homebay was there along the way answering my questions via email and phone and consulting with me regarding each offer.

I highly recommend using them if you are willing to do the leg work for selling your own home (flyers, paperwork, non-MLS marketing, open houses, private showings, and answering lots of phone calls from brokers and agents).

You must also represent yourself well if you are going to be successful...if real estate agents mistake you for one of them then you're in good shape. Learn their lingo, follow up with them and ask for feedback along the way.

Honestly, it's not for everyone, but if you fit the bill - you're business savvy, you have the time - it's a full-time job for ~2 weeks in the bay area, you know the art of negotiation, you know the market value of your home and can emotionally detach from it, etc..... then it's a great way to save money!

In my honest opinion, I think Homebay has the right ideal. However, they need to spend more money in customer service and support. Almost every time I called, I had to leave a message. No live person to talk to, and a few time, the live person that I talked to, asked the wrong question, like what is my address instead of my phone number, so I didn't get a call back.
