First and foremost, the host pushes those in attendance into giving a 5 star review prior to finishing the sales pitch (the costs and stipulations).

Initially I received a text from a Rachel Flynn asking me to attend an event for the National Real Estate Association. After a few unsolicited texts, I quickly got the impression that these were robo texts. Further, this individual and company wasn't ever mentioned at the sales pitch meeting. It appears that this company/individual was just a misdirect to get my attention.

I was invited under the pretense that the 75 realtors that would be there would need lender representation to answer questions. This was another misdirect because there appeared to be many, many lenders there in the same role. At no point did the meeting organizer need or prompt for the lenders to "help" the realtors. There was no opportunity to network once the event began, and nearly none for the realtors who arrived early.

The purpose of the misdirect appeared to be because the sales pitch host was pitching the lenders in tandem with the realtors. My guess is that they knew the lenders wouldn't come if we knew the true nature of the event.

Once the sales pitch was finally revealed, we were told that we had approximately 20 minutes to decide to fork over approximately $699 (discounted fee) with a monthly fee of $149. Refusal would result in a rejection if you tried to sign up later because the "25 person limit" for all of Houston would be reached. And yet, concurrently, if you signed up later it would be $899 and you'd only get access to 1 of the 3 sales modules. I personally asked him if I could have some time to consider signing up and he was vehement about the option only being good for about 20 minutes.

At 4 hours (8:30 - 12:30) I feel I was conned into wasting half my work day. The pitch was drawn out. The speaker spent nearly the first hour talking about himself and his hard road that led him here. 3 times he used manipulation tactics (guilt) to solicit stronger engagement, because he was having trouble keeping the crowds attention. The moment he gave the cost or the pitch the room quickly emptied. A few minutes into the Q&A less 10 people were still paying attention.

My time has value. I was led into this under false pretenses. I can only assume that these tactics are used because the product being pushed isn't as good as it's presented to be, so the company opts for pressure under the guise of an offer that's only avaliable if you fork over money right this minute.
