"TORQEEDO ENGINE - METAL BRACKET SNAPPED IN 2 & ENGINE LOSS"

We purchased a 1103S torqeedo engine & battery on 14.2.2020. 95% of the time kept in bag on the boat, we went out to sea for 10 mins, came in went up river.
The engine had been on our dinghy, the bracket had snapped totally and we had lost our engine & battery in the sea. We sent pictures to Torqeedo Germany & they offered a 20% discount on a new one, only if bought through them. By this time we had bought a new engine, as needed to use the dinghy. Very surprised that the bracket had snapped off completely - there must have been a fault in the metal manufacture.
Anyone else with this problem.. really disappointed with the offer from them under the circumstances.

"Very very unreliable"

Very very unreliable. Fails repeatably in a tidal harbour. My 40 year old two stroke is more reliable. The plugs and their cables are not suitable for a marine environment

"Travel 1003L"

I have a Travel 1003L. Despite not that much use over 4 years the tiller and battery have failed due to water ingress (though they’re supposed to be waterproof) and were replaced by Torqeedo and today the shaft started making a knocking sound with the propellor turning without any real power just when I needed it to work properly to get me back to shore safely. You just can’t rely on it working when you need it. Waste of money.

Ich habe im Mai einen Travel L mit Batterie YP und ein Ersatzpropeller sowie einen extra langen Pinnenarm bestellt. Die ersten zwei Positionen kamen nach ca. 1 Monat, die dritte nach 3 Monate und auf der letzten warte ich immer noch.

"Kulanz/Garantie"

Habe im Jahre 2020 für mein Kajak Hobie i 14t ein e-Volve kit 403 mit torqeedo Antrieb für über 2800 € gekauft. Benutzt wurde der Motor Pandemiebedingt nur wenig. Letztes Jahr überhaupt nicht. Dieses Jahr wurde festgestellt daß Wasser in den Motor eingedrungen ist angeblich durch massive Grundberührung, die wir nicht bestätigen können. Es geht wohl eher darum, Kulanzansprüche abzuwehren da ja die 2 jährige Garantie abgelaufen war. Im übrigen wurde der Motor nach Gebrauch stets trocken gelagert. Dieses angeblich hochwertige und teure Produkt enttäuscht
total.
Mit
30 % Rabatt auf einen Tauschpylon wurde wir abgespeist.
Finger weg von Torqeedo da für mich kein Qualitätsprodukt trotz hohem Preis !

"Bad design, horrible support "

This is what has happened to my torqeedo 1003 just a week ago. A propeller hit the sand. But the unit was working and, I made to my marina OK. Next morning I found that shear pin that suppose to protect the motor, actually destroyed it. It broke on one side but was still connected to a propeller. The piece that broke, went down between cover and moving part and made a hole in a plastic cover by: The surface of the prop and the cover looks like a water board. And, the motor was full of seawater. Error E45. I posted photos and description of this on a new torqeedo webpage but got nothing except some links, that are not helpful. My point is - the part that suppose to protect the motor actually destroyed it. The unit is 1003, out of warranty and discontinued. I have 2 batteries that are still good but useless as now. $2200 just for batteries... So Torqeedo, would you comment and do something about it? Crickets as usual? How it is my fault? I think it is bad design, having electronics underwater and no protection against cases like mine. Bad product, bad support, bad company.

"Service schlecht"

Service unterirdisch schlecht! Torqueedo telefonisch nicht erreichbar, man wird von dem Telefonautomaten immer wieder auf die Homepage und das online-Kontaktformular verwiesen. Auf die Antwort warte ich schon über eine Woche.
Bei den hochpreisigen Produkten bin ich von diesen miserablen Service masslos enttäuscht.
@Torqueedo: Eine blumige, computergenerierte Antwort wie bei den anderen Beschwerden, können Sie sich sparen. Verbessern Sie lieber den Kundenservice.
2 Monate später: Nachdem ich durch Zufall die Email-Adresse des CEO heraus bekommen und ihn persönlich angeschrieben habe, bekam ich einen Anruf von einer sehr freundlichen, bemühten Mitarbeiterin der Service-Abteilung, dass mein Ticket versehentlich als erledigt verbucht und deshalb nicht beantwortet worden wäre. Eine Lösung meines Problems wurde versprochen.

"Der Service ist mangelhaft"

Leider eine wirklich enttäuschende Erreichbarkeit des Services. Keine Hotline, keine Mailadresse. Ein umständliches Kontaktformular auf das dann tagelang nicht reagiert wird. Erst mal werden links zugeschickt, Videos, die man anschauen soll, externe Händler genannt. Man vermeidet aktiv, dem Kunden eine Hilfe zu sein. Nach diesen Erfahrungen kann ich die (teuren) Produkte nicht empfehlen.
