"New curtains"

I love my new curtains! The fabric is absolutely gorgeous, a soft mid-weight velvet. I did a lot of research so knew exactly what I wanted. I appreciated being able to choose what type of lining and heading I wanted. The fitting guidelines were helpful and my curtains are perfect for the window. The curtains arrived about four weeks after ordering, as expected. They were well packaged and came out of the box uncreased and ready to hang. I have already recommended this company to a family member.

"Appalling experience but lovely curtains"

I am leaving a one star review based on my experience with this company, but it should be noted that whilst the experience was appalling, the curtains were actually beautiful when we eventually received them.

Read on for a full explanation:-
After receiving notification that our curtains had been dispatched, I was so excited to receive them and immediately removed my existing curtains and shipped them off to the local charity shop.
On receipt of my package, I was disappointed to note they were not the curtains I had ordered, I contacted the company immediately and they called me back explaining that only two sets of curtains had been dispatched the previous day and it appeared that the labels had been “mixed up” and that my curtains had been sent elsewhere.
The company sent another label by email, I packaged the curtains back up and had to wait until the following working day for them to be collected, I had to wait in all day, as I was told I could not leave them outside because they were someone else’s curtains. They were collected at 15.35pm.
Almost a full day wasted.
However as my curtains were being collected from where they had been delivered incorrectly and they would soon be in my hands, I accepted that it had to be done.
The following day, my box of curtains arrived …. Except they were not my curtains at all !!!!
This time they were someone else’s.
So once again, I phoned the company, I was asked to take a photo of the curtains so they could look into it, at this point I was becoming increasingly upset, where were the curtains I had paid almost £500 for?
They were still in the Warehouse!
So as I live in Yorkshire and the company is based in Yorkshire, (albeit completely different sides)I asked my husband to finish work early so we could drive to return the incorrect curtains and collect the right ones on the proviso that the company would recompense us for all the inconvenience and the lost time.

Regrettably they offered £50, which was rather insulting and really only covered petrol, nothing to do with inconvenience and my husbands loss of income and my loss of 2 days.
So instead of wasting both our days trailing over, the company sent someone the same day and we accepted zero recompense.

Now having said all this about the appalling experience, the curtains are beautiful, but I would never use them based on my appalling experience.

"Helpful with fitting a homemade roman blind"

I bought a roman blind header for a home-made blind. It was £30 cheaper than aocal store and arrived very promptly with clear instructions. Sturdy construction. I didn't need all the length of cord provided, and some of the surplus got caught up whilst I was fitting it. I called the company, who answered straight away and talked me clearly through how to untangle and refit it, removing the surplus cord too. Good service!

"Ordered two blind for the bedroom and…"

Ordered two blind for the bedroom and was a bit apprehensive at first as I was responsible for the measurements but I was give sound advice and placed my order. Approx two weeks they arrived and the quality of the finish was immaculate and I am so pleased with them and will defo order more for the other rooms. The customer service throughout was really good too.

"Be very wary of this company"

Be very wary of this company and read the poor/average and bad reviews below before ordering from them. They all relate to this company's returns policy, which I have today raised as an issue with Trading Standards. All decorators will advise you to order more wallpaper than you need in order to make sure that you have paper from the same batch if you underestimate quantities, which is easily done even if you use this company's online calculator - see other reviews. If you follow this advice and over-order with this company, they will not accept back the overage and refund you, even though they are obliged to do so according to the Consumer Act 2015. This is because they argue that they are only obliged to accept back and refund complete orders. This is not the case. They are obliged to take back part orders by law, for eg rolls of wallpaper, if these rolls are in their original packaging and are undamaged. What the company will do is hold extra rolls for you from the same batch so you can make a further order if the decorator needs more. This is fine if your decorator is happy to stand down for a few days until the order arrives, or if you are happy to pay £25 for express delivery. I'd advise buying from a different online company, checking their returns policy first, or better still from a shop. In addition, House Decor's customer service is poor. They do not reply swiftly to queries or complaints, and they are not particularly well organised in handling orders and delivery.

"Thankyou for a wonderful job"

Good morning.
In May 2020, in the height of covid, I called you to enquire about some fabric i was having difficulty in finding.
You, not only could order it, you made up some curtains for me.
Two years on, as you can see they still look magnificent. I thought your professional service, quality of work, customer care, packaging etc, was absolutely first class. Your suggestion of including flat sewn sides and a rolled hem, give the curtains a very professional finish, and was much appreciated.
I'm only sorry that I hadn't thanked you earlier, but rest assured, I admire the curtains everyday.

"First class company"

My curtains arrived within 2 weeks.They are beautifully made and pattern matched perfectly .They were delivered carefully packaged in polythene.
.I'm so glad I read all the reviews before I chose this company.They were very slightly more expensive but so worth it.
I phoned them to check them out after reading horrendous reviews about other companies I'd recieved samples from and they answered immediately and were very reassuring.
They were the only company out of four who quoted me ,who stated exactly how much fabric they would be using in metres , with lovely quality lining.No polyester or cheap nylon threads !!
I wouldn't hesitate to use them again and have already recommended them to several friends.
