"Bad customer service"

I must admit, I have been a faithful customer at Farminson for a long time (2 meat box deliveries a month for over a year) and have been satisfied with your product. Yes, there have been hiccups in the delivery from time to time, but again, no company is perfect, and the issues have always been handled with good service.
But this last time I got a mail from Farminson Sunday the 6th that something was wrong with the payment (link didn’t work in the 7 emails I got from Farminson in the coming days) and that I submitted a support ticket the same day (Sunday the 6th) asking for advice. Tuesday 8th a reply from Farminson listing that it was something with the IT department. I waited for your IT department to return with a solution but heard nothing from you. The day after my bi-weekly delivery should have been there, I had to ask Farminson for status in the case and your solution was that I should cancel my subscription and place another?
I know that you have grown a lot as a company over the past years but grow so big that you are neglecting good service. Good service could have been a message from you where you told me “….that you were unable to complete delivery as agreed, but would of cause send out my packaged as soon as the issue would be resolved”. Instead there was nothing..
I have not renewed my subscription, but I have followed the supports advise to cancel my current subscription. I am searching for another company that can manage payment, quality, delivery, and customer service and hopefully I have found it. I’m already had my first delivery on time and in very good quality and with (so far) excellent customer service, and here my credit card went through with no problems.

"No confidence in quality control or food safety/hygeine"

I have used Farmison for 4 or 5 orders and found that some of the meat is excellent, some tough, some gone off. I sent them this email which they have completely ignored.
"Dear Sir/Madam
I wish to let you know that I have decided not to purchase any more meat from Farmison. Having not ordered more than 4 or 5 times from Farmison there have been a number of issues.
The first issue was that 2 packs of steak strips on our second or third order were not of the quality previously supplied by you and contained large pieces of very tough steak. This issue was brought to your attention, batch numbers identified and replacements sent.
We then had an order with an Item missing but charged for and had to call for a refund.
In our last order (January 2022) I ordered steak strips x 2 and froze them for later use. Both packs have been defrosted carefully and on opening smell rancid and vinegary.( Opened today)
I feel that the quality of the meat ordered when it is good is very good but it is so hit and miss with the steak strips that I have lost confidence in the quality control and hygiene at Farmison.
I felt you may want to know this.

I would at least, have expected them to let me know that I have been removed from the circulation list. I have to agree with other reviewers that this business seems to have grown too quickly and standards of meat and quality control are suffering as a consequence. When you look at the website they still appear to by trying to sell stuff they got in for Christmas which was frozen when they didn't sell it. I have used Swaledale twice now and can highly recommend.
Farmison has contacted me 6 days after my complaint and asked if I have photographs of the meat.

Farmison is my good to online butcher. Their website is very easy to navigate. When shopping around I have found they have a very reasonable minimum order value for free delivery (£40) compared to other places which tend to be around £100. Farmison have offers on alot on different things which encourages me to buy different meat. Farmison also offer eco packaging for a small additional fee which makes getting rid of the packaging in my recycling easy (don't have to deal with polypropylene, instead you get sheep's wool you can put in your food waste bin). The meat is always good quality, I like fatty meat and their pork chops are a particular favourite of mine and their beef steaks are nice too.

Good quality food in the family monthly subscription pack. Just wish there was a way to recycle packaging (insulated box and freezer bags) much easier than having to send box back. Collection on next order ?

Excellent quality of meat, speedy delivery which was well packed for freshness and keeping chilled, bonus that I now have insulated packaging and freezer packs for summer picnics.

Easy to order piece of beef for weekend and was brilliantly delivered as stated on Friday. Very chilled and great packaging. The beef was absolutely great tasty and so tender. Great cooking instructions help as was quite a large piece.

Thought I would try some of the ready-made Yorkshire pudding batter. It is really good and can be frozen. The delivery and packaging were very good, the batter was still chilled on arrival. I will be looking out for other items from this company.

Excellent meat, great delivery service. I discovered Farmisons during the first lockdown and have to say that I have never received any meat which was not first class, love the local nature of the meat, and although it gains a few “air miles” being delivered to the north east of England, I can live with that
