"This was a great class"
This was a great class. It really opened my eyes to think outside the box. There needs to be more training on this subject with officers so we can better identify and know how to deal with someone on the spectrum, not just for liability purposes but also to be able to show more compassion and be more utilitarian

"Worthy - Thank You"
As a crucial part of my community role, I am unwavering in my commitment to educating and advocating, as well as connecting families and individuals to essential resources. The augmentation of my knowledge primarily originates from thorough research and my active involvement in extensive educational programs. Despite not being a first responder, I had the extraordinary opportunity to attend the Blue Bridge Autism Training for First Responders. This experience provided a priceless, firsthand understanding that books or videos could never fully convey. It shed light on the shared vulnerability of parents with children in the autism spectrum and Law Enforcement, reinforcing the idea that a parent's concern for their child is a universal experience.
Retired Captain, Jerry Turning, delivers his wealth of knowledge and experience in Law Enforcement not solely as part of a training program, but from a place of genuine, heartfelt advocacy; undoubtedly, dual advocacy at its finest. Speaking as a father, Turning passionately strives to protect his child and other children within the autism spectrum. Additionally, he aims to enlighten us about the potential challenges these individuals and their families may face with law enforcement. These issues can extend beyond simple misunderstandings from the average person, especially if our community and law enforcement lack the proper training to deal with individuals within the spectrum as they transition into adulthood.
His authentic advocacy serves as a testament to his profound determination to ensure the safety and comprehensive understanding of all individuals with autism. My deepest gratitude goes to everyone who played a part in making this free training possible to the community. The skills imparted through this program could potentially be lifesaving for young adults within the autism spectrum.

"The training is fantastic"
The training is fantastic. As an instructor taking classes it’s easy to buy in and believe if the instructor has that vested interest in the topic not teaching from a slide.
