BKS Made to Measure
Mr Customer
"Ultimate comfort, quality and protection"
BKS Made-to-Measure is known for making the ultimate motorcycle leathers, and for good reason. However, they have evolved their clothing to include bespoke textiles, too. I bit the financial bullet and plumped for their 100SX made-to-measure textiles.
I was wowed! There is simply something about owning exceptional handmade gear that means you get more out of it. It’s the small details, and however closely you inspect with BKS, they are undoubtedly the work of a skilled craftsperson at the top of their game. They feel a joy to wear, making riding more pleasurable. Incredibly, they make my previous Rukka textiles feel shoddy by comparison!
Unlike some of their leathers, I found BKS textiles relatively lightweight (lighter than Rukka, for example) with an exceptional choice of optional vents.
Crucially, BKS Made-to-Measure textiles are the only ones currently certified to the ultimate safety standard (EN 13595 Level 2), providing almost double the tear, cut, and abrasion resistance offered by AAA-rated gear. The bespoke fit means all the armour remains perfectly placed, adding comfort. It’s also safer as the protectors can’t budget out of place in a crash.
While I found BKS pricing eye-watering, it’s built (in Britain) to last a lifetime. In contrast, the small print on my Dainese leathers says they should be replaced after five years…

"The Best Leathers you can buy"
I've had a custom-made BKS suit now for over twenty years - the same suit ! In that time it has protected me as I've slid down numerous race tracks, been incredibly comfortable (once broken in) and it looks, and feels, of the highest quality. Yes, it's heavy, but I've been very grateful for the strength that implies when I've fallen off.
Secondly, the team at BKS are the most friendly and responsive lot. When I contacted them to ask about a refurbishment they were happy to do that and, after that refurb, the suit is as good as new again (barring some slight colour differences of course).
They are not cheap to buy BUT if you calculate what it would cost to buy the numerous other leathers that you'd need for the same period they are actually a bargain.
Top recommendation.
