"Fat bike fun!"
I purchased the Borealis Crestone GTX with the lauf fork this past December. This is an aggressive and light trail ripping machine. I mostly use it when the trails are snow covered or wet and muddy. I’m getting used to the proper tire pressure with the stock aluminum rims. If I use less than 8.5psi I risk bending the rim on the rocky terrain (this is inconvenient but easily correctable). In the future I may spring for the carbon rims as an upgrade. It was a great experience dealing directly with Steve Kaczmarek. He was responsive and went out of his way to make sure I was getting the right bike, and resolved minor issues immediately. I absolutely love the bike, and recommend it as a super fun ride that will keep you off the boring indoor trainer even during inclement weather. Thanks Steve!

"Weak Customer Service"
Initially I had a good experience when I bought the bike. Shipping was quick and the bike was mostly assembled so it was super easy to build up.
However, less than a year into it I started having trouble with a leaking rear brake caliper (Sram Level T). I realize that Borealis doesn't have any control over components. I sent multiple emails requesting some direction on how to handle the situation.....crickets. I never got an answer. So I just replaced the brakes with shimano XT's all together.
Then I had an issue with the rear derailleur cage. It got bent...no big deal these things happen. It was not repairable. So, I decided to replace the derailleur and shifter. When I tried to route the shift cable through the internal routing path I COULD NOT get the cable to exit where it was supposed to on the rear chain stay. I tried the magnet trick to pull the cable along. I also tried the thread / vacuum technique...NO Luck. I called Borealis and the said I would have to strip the bike and send it in but it was not likely to be covered by warranty.
Eventually, I found the problem by using a fiber optic endoscope. The internal routing tube inside the frame was completely broken 8" down from the head tube. Eventually I got the cable routed, Borealis was not interested in how or why this happened.
I ride this bike a lot and it's a pretty nice frame. However, their "after sale" customer service is weak.

"Borealis Fat Bikes, #1 in my opionion!"
Borealis Fat Bikes are the best bikes I have ever had the pleasure to ride. I have over 40 years experience owning, riding and trying many different bikes. I currently own 9 bikes. N+1. I find myself always choosing the Borealis. It handles any terrain. I live in the mountains of Northeastern PA. We have rocky, rooty, sandy, muddy trails. This bike handles all terrain with ease. It is truly a pleasure to ride. Comfortable, nimble, and faster than my 29er. Climbs and descends with ease. I am a huge fan of these bikes and would suggest anyone looking for a top quality fat bike give them a try. You won't be disappointed!

"Good customer service, poor product."
Good customer service, poor product design. Yampa should be using a rear thru-axle. Any uphill torque and the rear axle would come out of drop-outs. This is a known issue and cause for a product recall. Customer support was great trying to find a solution but I still cannot safely use this bike. Have tried everything asked and bike still is not safe for use. $1500 lesson >> buy local and support your LBS!

"Amazing products and customer service"
Excellent products, but more importantly, expert customer service. The people at Borealis really go the extra mile.
I have ordered a frameset, extra hubs, and warranty replacement of a fork on separate occasions. The warranty replacement happened while living abroad. In each instance the people I spoke to were fantastic at identifying the right products and ensuring I received what I needed efficiently.
The Borealis bike I am currently riding is a 1st generation Yampa, and has been one of my most favorite bikes that I’ve owned (and I have quite a collection).
Borealis has the trifecta - great quality, high performance, and trusted support.
