"The rental house was lovely"

The rental house was lovely - very nicely equipped - large bedrooms and baths. Separate kitchen/ living space was great as it was quiet and away from the bedrooms.

Some great things about this rental. It’s newly refurbished, bright & fresh. The beds & mattresses are some of the most comfortable we’ve ever had. The outside space is well landscaped & tidy.
However, l think advertising of this property is misleading & needs to be more transparent. The property is in fact the ‘middle section’ of a much larger property. Whilst it does have its own private entrance & grounds, you are sandwiched between two properties. This sometimes felt slightly uncomfortable for us if we were having breakfast outside at the house. You were very aware that there were people on either side of the wall.
We never even considered that there would be no pool towels! It was so disappointing to arrive in hot weather after travel and realise you couldn’t have a swim. Pool towels are a must in luxury rentals we feel. In 15 years we’ve never had that happen. We had to go out to buy some the next day.
There were also some practical things overlooked in the house…
A house for 12 people needs to have lots of dish /drying cloths. We had two! We had to ask for more and were brought only another two…
There was no apron to use. Cooking on the plancha ( no barbecue ) can be quite messy. In the end family members had to bring us these things.
The master bedrooms needs consideration. There were 4 very large pieces of mismatched furniture/ cabinets / cupboards along the wall. None of them very practical. Not one had full length hanging for summer dresses etc. There were no pegs or hooks on the wall so nowhere to hang them. In the end l kept them all in the case. A proper wardrobe, drawers & dressing table would be much better.

"The house was fabulous"

The house was fabulous, but cooking was a bit of a problem as the range kept fusing the electrics and the barbecue was very complicated. It kept loosing heat and said it needed cleaning but appeared to be very clean. Also a welcome box would have been nice as we arrived around 8 to discover that the local restaurants were not open and we had missed the supermarket.

Lovely house : well kept, location excellent .
It should be made clearer that two bedroom are located side by side and thus you have to walk through one bedroom to get to the newish is in the hallway. It is Asher’s bathroom
The annex bedroom has a shower ensuite but the toilet is a steep winding staircase away

We had 2 fantastic weeks with our children (11, 15 and 18). The house and kitchen are perfectly equipped. The countryside is a dream. My husband loved his bike rides, that start directly in front of the house!
