"Join this camp!"

Initially, I was skeptical whether this camp could be helpful (I was recommended by my school). It seemed sketchy. But I have to say, joining this camp is one of the best experiences I've ever had (I managed to get a full scholarship. There is a very high price, but plenty scholarship opportunities. Even if you can't get a scholarship it is honestly worth it). With all the knowledge I've gained about pygames, I created 2 games (snake, flappy bird) from scratch to become more aware of how everything works. I heavily recommend this. I learned so much within 5 days. I progressed from understanding very little code to developing games. The teachers were funny and kind and taught me so much. There's a great community. Join this camp!!!! You won't regret it!

"My experience with the AI camp"

Great teachers and very interactive. If you're interested with learning programming you will walk away with something new. I feel like I have gotten a good grasp on a lot of the concepts.

"My Experience With the One-Week Game Development Course"

I just recently completed the 1-Week game dev course and I would like to commend the instructors and leaders for their excellent work. I went into this hoping to learn a bit of Python, but not expecting a lot to come out of a week-long course full of inexperienced teens (including me) and potentially underpaid disgruntled instructors trying to teach code over a Zoom call. However, I was greeted by a warm friendly atmosphere full of energy, enthusiasm, and excitement. After the opening introductory proprieties were completed, we dove right in with getting set up and immediately starting to learn. My instructor, the one and only Mr. Deb Gosh was an absolute GOAT throughout the whole week as he guided me and my 4-5 other teammates not only through the basics of Python, but also helped us create our own (albeit significantly abridged) game that was fully functional with a playable character, realized art assets, a start menu, a game-over screen, and a win screen. Throughout this course, there was a strong sense of passion and excitement from the leaders (Deb, of course, was the best, but all the other leaders were great too). Everyone was very supportive and focused on helping us learn. The data analysis crews each worked on interesting projects, and when they presented at the end of the week you could tell they had learned a lot.

The only negative part of my experience is that it ended too soon! I had a lot of fun and I would have loved to spend a little longer on it. Because everyone on my team was new to Python, we spent the first two and half days learning the basics - which we did, and that's awesome! But then we only had a couple of days to do our project, which was the game, and that is not enough time to make anything substantial. However, the point of this week wasn't to come out with a fully-fledged game or anything. The main objective of this camp was to acquire the necessary tools, knowledge, and insights to confidently take on larger and more intricate/involved projects in the future.

So, in regards specifically to the game dev course I was involved in, should you attend AI Camp? If you want a fun and engaging way to get into Python (and Pygame, which is what we used to build our game), then this is a fantastic option. You get to meet with like-minded individuals and passionate instructors who will do their best to help you meet your goals. You should have at least a basic conceptual understanding of what code is and how it works, but I would assume that to be a given for anyone seeking to enroll. If you're seeking a comprehensive learning experience that allows you to delve deep into Python and thoroughly understand its nuances and intricacies, this might not be what you're looking for. However, AI camp does offer a fun opportunity to jump in headfirst and get genuinely excited about coding and developing games and other programs. If you already have some Python and Pygame experience and want a course where you can team up with others to create more fully-fledged games or level up your knowledge (yes, that was intentional), you might want to check out different options. The week just touched on the basics and we didn't have the time or experience to create anything beyond a simple single-level platformer-type experience.

I want to note that the internet is fantastic and that you could probably learn all the same things elsewhere online for much less (or even free). However, you would miss out on one of the best parts of AI camp: the chance to interact and cooperate with passionate and excited individuals who share similar interests and goals.

I had a lot of fun this week and am very excited about my next opportunity later this summer when I complete the 3-week AI course. Based on my experience this week, I'm sure that course will be equally as exciting. I would rate this 4.5 stars, but since I can't do half-stars sooo I guess I'll just have to round up to five.

"Good program"

Pretty good, taught me a lot about ai and the like, and helped introduce me to many new python libraries. (I took the Level 2 3-week summer camp) Additionally gave me a lot of usable and relevant experience

"Great Teachers!"

The whole experience was really fun and that can be credited to the amazing teachers. In my one week camp I had Mr. Ghosh who was a very patient and engaging instructor. He always assisted us when we were having issues with our code and explained how things functioned. You will leave the camp with a desire to learn more about coding.

"AMAZING!!"

So I did a one week level one course and I must say it is simply mind blowing how much I learned within those 5 days. Before I go into the actual experience I must give my instructor TRAVIS a huge shoutout for making the entire experience so fun. I wasn't bored at all and he always made sure that we understood the topics and how to do certain things. Also one to my group member Braden for letting me borrow a sprite. One of the biggest takeaways I got from this experience was one practically all the basics to coding and more into depth about game dev. My final project in my opinion came out amazing it was a 3d platformer with parallax mapping. And if you don't know what parallax mapping is, really dumbed-down it's just a difficult way to have a background but it looks absolutely awesome afterwards. Also I came out with the knowledge of Mario's last name its mario. Mario Mario canon. Don't believe me google it. Guess Luigi's. Luigi Mario.
