"Amazing experience with a perfect planning"

We had one of the most amazing day trips ever and truly enjoyed our time in Agra. After seeing their website, we requested a day trip to Agra, which has been perfectly designed by Madeleine herself - she called me before our arrival to make sure she understands our interests, our schedule and our plans. The idea to have lunch at one of India's best hotels was simply outrageous. We were impressed and felt like the Kings of India with Indian Excurisions! Our tour guide was extremely good, he knew all details and always had a response for us. It was so interesting to see how things work in India if you have a perfectly planned tour, organized by a local operator! We did not have to wait for the golf car to the Taj Mahal, nor did we have to wait in the queue in front of the Taj. At the end of the day, we had the possibility to purchase marble souvenirs, which was a lovely touch to encourage with the locals and to see the local habits. The car was superb and the snacks plus hygenic articles were a great plus! Our driver was so kind and welcoming as well. A big thanks and I am sure you will have a great time with Indian Excursions.

"5 star personal service"

Our trip was planned in meticulous detail by Madeleine at Indian Excursions, whose interpretation of our requirements, sensible advice and detailed answers to questions were efficient and highly personalised. We were met on arrival at Delhi by her partner Shiv and driven everywhere by the same experienced driver, Sanjay. Our guides at the monuments and palaces were all courteous, friendly and knowledgeable, and we enjoyed many conversations about the history and culture of India which added to our appreciation of this fascinating country. The tone of voice on Indian Excursions' website was what convinced us to contact them initially, but it soon became apparent that we had stumbled upon a great example of a small company whose owners really are hands-on and passionate about pleasing their clients, something that was constantly demonstrated throughout our stay.
If you are concerned about booking through a non-UK Delhi-based business, don't be. They clearly have local knowledge and experience which is unlikely to be matched by even the biggest UK tour operators. And the combination of an English woman and an Indian gentleman ensures your every need is catered for.
After many years of 5 star holidays, we think these people are among the best we have ever used.

"Indian takeaway that was an experience of a lifetime."

We started planning this trip months before travelling and the information, advice and guidance we received from Madeleine and Shiv at Indian Excursions Co was brilliant. At no time did we feel lost, out of our depth or neglected.
Our hotels and home stays were all of them just what we wanted. A special mention for our stay at Dev Shree a oasis of calm, elegance and hospitality. We cannot recommend it enough, tea in the village and a train journey that will stay with me forever.
We did the Golden Triangle and from the moment we were picked up to being dropped off for our return everything went just as they said it would-even the bad stuff!
When we settled our itinerary we wanted a flight from Udaipu to Delhi which Madeleine suggested may not be a good idea as the fog often disrupts flights that time of year. We went ahead regardless and as she predicted our flights were disrupted and we had a little stress time. :-). Shiv and Madeleine came through and sorted us out with alternative flights and even met us at Delhi to refund our lost flight and give us a cool beer for our journey to the hotel.
Guides at all our stops were knowledgeable and eloquent, some more than others, but none of them left us feeling as if we had been patronised or talked down to.
Our driver "Gandhi" was most impressive and we were able to see local sights that we'd have otherwise missed thanks to him as well as those on our itinerary.

"Excellent service!"

This is a personal email I sent Indian Excursions after my trip to Rajasthan.

Dear Madeleine,

I am good and missing India already! Oh we had a fantabulous time... Thank you so much for that beautiful trip! My husband and I felt like royals, extremely pampered and indulgent.

I've already left a review on the trip advisor link you provided. But I would like to give you feedback here as well. We are truly impressed and satisfied with this trip and your company. You delivered everything promised and much more! The car was in great condition and Sanjay was a gem! The car was cleaned everyday and new water bottles provided daily. Nothing was too much work for him, he would always do it with a smile.

The tour guides were good and we particularly liked Mr Deepak in Udaipur (who we thought looked like Gary Oldman) and AK in Agra. Mr Raju in Delhi was good as well. They were very knowledgable, professional and had great personality. We were also surprised by presence of both the tour guides and the agents at each hotel check in, which really made us feel like we were VIPs.

The hotels were some of the best we had stayed in! And we are so happy we took up you suggestion on Chhatra Sagar. That was one of the highlights of our trips, just as you had promised! Beautiful place. Raas was a fantastic choice too with great views of the fort. My husband especially loved Dera Amer and the elephant ride. The Oberoi and Taj were obviously in a league of their own but even then, they exceeded our expectations.

Overall, we are very happy customers and truly impressed with Indian Excursions. There were no unexpected costs, short-changes or glitches, which is a marked difference from my previous interactions with Indian companies. We hope to use your services again.

"Fabulous 50th birthday trip"

All our contact with Indian Excursions Company was faultless. Madeline, Shiv and our driver Sanjay were excellent. They were very accomodating in helping to make my birthday celebrations something I will always remember. Sanjay even bought me flowers !! India is very " in your face" and all your senses come to life. Sanjay made sure we were safe at all times. I can thoroughly recommend this company. Well done

We have now arrived home after our amazing adventure of touring Rajasthan. Many thanks for your efficient and professional manner in which you arranged our holiday, for ourselves and friends.

Can't thank you enough for your attention to detail and care from the moment we arrived in Dehli to the day of leaving again 17 days later.

Madan was our driver with Raul as his helper. They were punctual, informative, friendly and made every day pleasant because of their care and attention to our comfort.
Our journey was made extra special because of the people we met and sights like a mother tiger and her cubs at the Ranthamborne tiger reserve.

Arriving at the Imperial Hotel in Dehli was such a treat, although not all the hotels were to this standard, we take full responsibility as the final choice was made by ourselves when booking with you. Very difficult to choose a hotel from the website as photos can be misleading as to the standard!

Nothing could deter our enjoyment of being in India, sometimes testing all senses but wouldn't change a thing, as this is what the whole experience is about!

We hope to plan another holiday soon, perhaps sample Southern India next time.

Indian Excursions were great right from the very beginning. Madeleine was so helpful in her emails and quick to respond and didn't mind us making any changes, so that our trip was designed for us. The team in India were so welcoming and knowledgeable and was great be given a mobile phone that we could use if needed. Would definitely recommend Indian Excursions and hope to use them again soon ourselves!

"Journey through Rajasthan"

Thank you Madeleine and Shiv so very much for organising such a fantastic and well planned journey through Rajasthan. All the arrangements worked perfectly and the guides were all first rate. We would particularly like to single out our guide Amir at Agra. He was very professional and knowledgeable and ensured that I fulfilled a lifetime dream of getting the best photos of the Taj Mahal possible (I think he knew a lot more about photography than he let on). He went out of his way to make sure we got the most out of our visit to Agra.

One of the highlights for us was the visit to Tordi Garh. This provided us with a closer look at rural India and was enhanced by it being off the main tourist route. The Jeep tour at Tordi Garh and surrounds was sensational (to our delight the jeep was ancient and about the same vintage as the driver) and our guide Ved Prakash (from the hotel) made sure we experieced all that the local area had to offer to the fullest. He was also more than capable as our guide for a pre-dawn hike up to the fort and made sure I got some very impressive sunrise photos for which I am truly grateful.

Also, thank you for including the cooking class. This was a bit of a surprise (don't recall seeing it on the agenda), but it made the world of difference to our approach to restaurant menus after that.

Last but not least our driver Kaileesh was an amazing driver over the whole journey. Such courtesy, an unflappable manner, great sense of humor and caring nature, together with his precision driving over some trying roads helped to make our trip comfortable, safe and hassle free. We also really enjoyed the drive to Udaipur via the backroads which gave us further glimpses of Indian life in a rural setting and our visits to Seth Andji Kalyanji temple and Kumbhalgarh Fort.

While we did not see a tiger, your wonderful itinerary provided us with many unforgettable experiences and a lifetime of memories and we cannot thank you both enough. Perhaps next time the Tigers will be a little less shy.

"Extremely professional and helpful travel company"

My husband and I went to Rajasthan with Indian Excursions for two weeks over Christmas 2014 and had a magical time. From the very first contact with Maddie and the itinerary creation process, to the meeting on arrival at the airport by Shiv and our fabulous driver Sanjay, all the way through the trip to seeing us off for our departure home, the whole team was extremely professional and helpful, dealing with all requests promptly, and ensuring we were happy and comfortable at all times (from giving us a mobile phone to use while we were there, to having the car well-stocked with water, sweets and tissues!). They could not have done a better job.

Indian Excursions were excellent! Madeleine was so helpful when we were planning our trip, and Shiv couldn't have done more to welcome us when we first arrived and keep in contact and make sure we were ok during our 2 week holiday. Even when we lost our mobile phone, Shiv had a replacement sent to us the very next day! The recommended hotels were very good, as were the guides in each city. Madan our Driver was just fabulous.
