Lost World Adventures

"Would have been lost without Lost World!"
Our South America trip exceeded all our expectations! Each and every location provided us with invaluable experiences because of our guides knowledge of place and time! Guides were amazing. Our hotels were all centrally located with great amenities, all except for one. Once Lost World found out we were unhappy they did everything in their power to make amends. There was a delay providing us with a final itinerary, which gave us limited flexibility with our trip at that point.
However, I would highly recommend Lost World to do any of my future travels abroad.
Their attention to detail was amazing!

"What an Amazing Family Vacation"
We just got from the most amazing family vacation in Ecuador. 14 of us, including 2 children and 2 teens, went to Quito and the Galapagos Islands. We had incredible guides including Maria in Quito and a wonderful naturalist aboard the Galapagos Legend, Fatima. The trip went off without a hitch, and everything was so well planned. Our hotel in Quito, Hotel Patio Andaluz was picture perfect. The staff were so friendly and helpful to us. The location of the hotel was very good, and the food was great. While we were in the Galapagos we stayed aboard the Galapagos Legend. The ship was beautiful, and all the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Our room and huge windows looking out to the beautiful islands. The rooms also had a lot of storage for all of our stuff. We had a wonderful time and Lost World Adventures put together and fantastic trip!!!

"another great trip to Costa Rica"
We have been to Costa Rica a dozen times, and seen all the usual tourist destinations. Our favorite is by far the Lapa Rios resort on Osa Peninsula. But this time we wanted to branch into some uncharted areas (for us) to see some rare birds that we have never seen before - we are avid birders. Lost World Adventures partners with Sun Tours in Costa Rica and they have excellent transporters and field guides. There was a horrible traffic nightmare around San Jose due to a collapsed bridge on the Panamerican Highway - but we got to our destinations by the back roads and the drivers were cooperative and cheerful driving through the mess. Our birder driver/guide, Sterling Alfaro, was fantastic and we went on two separate excursions in two separate areas of the country with him and saw many new species. We even saw a sleeping ghost bat. We highly recommend Lost World Adventures because they have the connections to make your trip great no matter where you stray off the grid. Working with them to design our special itinerary was a breeze, and the drivers and guides they work with in Costa Rica were dependable and always on time to pick us up and helpful along the way. Can't wait to design next year's trip!

"South America"
We had a fantastic trip and Garvey was a perfect planner. We knew nothing of Patagonia so his advice and patience with our 1000 questions was most helpful. We loved the Awasi but it outside the park adding about 2 hours each way to an excursion. The hotel was amazing though and overall we rated that the driving was worth it.

"Peru to Quito, Equador to The Galapagos Island adventure."
My daughter, husband and I started our trip in Peru where we toured the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu for 4 days. We then flew to Quito, Ecuador to meet friends where we toured the city for 2 days then flew to the Galápagos Islands for a 5 day cruise on the "Galapagos Legend".
In each location we were met with a private driver and guide. Our guide's were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. If we asked or even suggested something, they were checking to see if it could be done. In the airport in Cusco, my daughter fainted (do to altitude sickness and a cold she had come down with during our travels) our guide, Maria, stayed with us the entire time until a doctor came to clear her to fly. We missed our flights and Maria still stayed and helped us through it all. We were impressed and grateful!!!
The downside for us were the very early flights booked for us in South America through Lost World Adventure. There were a few days that we were not getting to our hotel until 8:00pm and the next morning we had a 3:45am departure for the airport. We had a couple of these and it was brutal. The next time I will be very cognizant of our flight times.
Lastly, I had contacted Lost World regarding an upgrade in our cabin on the cruise in the Galapagos in which, I received no response. I was disappointed in not having an upgrade as we really wanted a balcony room.
All-in-all it was an amazing experience with memories lasting a lifetime.
I would recommend Lost World Adventure and would use them again.

"Personal and excellent service"
We booked a trip down the Chilean coast to the glaciers, and also stopped in Puerto Varas and Chiloe. Everything was very well arranged, the ship was very pleasant, and pries were excellent. Highly recommended.

"Trip of a lifetime."
I was very impressed with Lost World from my first encounter via email with them. They put together a wonderful itinerary that suited our needs and expectations to the T. We loved our guides, our hotels, except for the last one at the airport, and our tours. I would recommend them to anyone traveling abroad.

"Peru Trip 2017"
This trip was so much more than I expected. The quality of the guides was stellar, the cultural immersion was deep, and the views were vast and majestic. I was physically challenged the right amount, learned about the Peruvian and Inca culture and had enough down time to fully explore Cisco at my own pace.
Would recommend.

"Three totally different, totally excellent, places."
We went to Antigua, Lake Atitlan, and the Tikal area, spending four nights and three-plus days in each. Can't do much better in a richly cultural colonial city, a magnificent highland lake, and a jungly archeological area. Can't get much better accommodations, at least to our taste. Casa Santo Domingo was a museum with all the comforts. Lake Atitlan Hotel had volcanic lake views that will bring us back to its garden the next time we need a week to do nothing but walk, sit, and stare. And Los Lagunas was a quiet boutique property with serene natural beauty. And the tours, arranged by LWA's partner Via Venture, were uniformly excellent. If you want the perfect compromise between a group tour and winging it on your own, this is it. I have quibbles about the pre-trip arranging stage, a few minor in-trip details, and some souvenir mosquito bites, but they all wash out in an excellent experience well worth the planning and money.

"Peru"
Peru was our 5th trip planned by Andrew and the Lost World Adventures team. As with our prior trips to Guatemala, Nicaragua, Colombia and Panama, the trip was perfectly planned and executed. All transfers happened on time with clear instructions and assistance. Tours and tour guides were terrific - the correct amount of information for us provided by knowledgeable guides. As for the hotels - I am very particular about hotels. Andrew and the team understood clearly what we wanted in terms of service level, cost and size and booked us into fantastic properties. Finally, with each of our trips, based upon our preference, the days were planned with the correct balance of independence and guidance. We were comfortably on our own knowing we had a "guardian angel" on the ground if any issues arose.
Over the years, we have recommended Lost World Adventures to friends and family wishing to travel to Latin America. All have had similarly great experiences. We wholeheartedly recommend this team. I just wish we had a similar "go to" travel advisor for our trips to other areas.
