"They accepted payment for renting the…"

They accepted payment for renting the car through mastercard Revolut but they did not accept the same card for the insurance of the car at Centauro pick -up the car-lol. Also they did not accept my other solution another debit card visa this time. They wanted credit card only which i do not have in particular. In the end they didn;t even canceld the res and they are extremely rude here in Athens department saying it is none of his business, which it is to cancel my res if he could not or would not wanted to fullfill. Especially the manager in Athens Centauro was unhelpful,rude and even offensive!

"Great customer experience"

Rented a brand-new car in Malaga Spain but as a result of my inexperience with driving on the twisty maze of roads in the city, I decided to bring the car back after about an hour. Although I paid for the non-refundable insurance, Centauro refunded my payment. They didn't have to do it - legally I was responsible for the total amount of insurance, but they took care of us. Very grateful, cool people & would definitely rent with them again.

Do not accepting VISA credit card because it was Revolut. Prepayment was made, they also refused to cancel the order.

"Many positives but one really bad negative "

We booked a car through booking.com and it was cheaper than anyone else. There probably is the lesson. We booked and took out the extra insurance with booking.com which would cover any claim on the excess which was clearly shown as up to €1100.
On arrival,met by friendly staff, all cars like new. The staff then asked if I had insurance that would cover the standard excess of €1100. I said I did and showed them the paperwork. The lady then said that it was very difficult to claim the money back on this insurance and that you would need a police report covering any damage found etc. she said that the police rarely attend most incidents and definitely wouldn't attend damage found etc. she was quite adamant that my insurance was no good. By this time it was 1130 pm had been travelling all day and I didn't have the energy to go through all the small print on my insurance. The lady then offered me their full insurance for €300 extra which would cover me for everything . I took this up and paid the money as I didn't want to risk it. The next day I checked the insurance that I had already bought and it was rubbish that you needed a police report. All you needed was an invoice from the hire company showing the amount that they were charging on the excess. The final price was more than I had been quoted from the other companies that came with full insurance. I will say that the car was very new, clean and reliable and the staff on return were very pleasant and got us straight to the airport.
Just felt that I was misled in regard to the extra insurance.

I booked a car less than 48 hours for Athens airport, through bookings.com,I read the terms agreed the price booked and paid, on checking my booking the night before leaving I opened my voucher only to read I have to pay an extortionate €1100 deposit, this is an absolutely unacceptable amount, on cancelling the booking they now charged me £25 n only refund me £8 in 7 days,
This is awefull service, unless you’ve got shed loads of cash to leave as deposit, avoid this lot, and as always no one’s answering the phone n no other contact or message details,available I’m absolutely livid you lot have taken money for nothing, absolutely nothing, typical

"This is a scam"

This is a scam. I was waiting for someone to pick me up in Athens airport and nobody was there. I tried to call in the office but nobody pick up the phone. I just lost my money without any explanation. Never going to do it again and I will never recommend anybody to use this company. Is a fraud

"Nadie al otro lado "

Hace 16 días que después de quejarme por una atención al cliente inexistente la empresa me contestó que en el plazo de 12 días me contestarían …seguimos sin noticias.
NI CASO de la respuesta automática que pone: "sentimos su mala experiencia póngase en contacto con nosotros" ...nadie contesta.
Una lástima que no haya personas al otro lado , pasamos a denunciar con la OCU

"You would do well to avoid this company…"

You would do well to avoid this company at all costs! Their staff are rude, bare-faced lying scammers! We booked a car for €188 a week through booking.com; pick-up from their office at Chania Airport in Crete, to be returned to Heraklion Airport..
It took forever for the mini-bus to collect us from Arrivals after we had called, even though we were assured it was on its way.. once at the office it soon became clear that the staff were interested in one thing only, selling additional insurance and making life as difficult as possible to force you to buy full insurance.. Whilst waiting I listened to various customers telling the desk staff they had their own full insurance and showing proof of this, only for this to be refuted by them and forcing the customers to have theirs at €27 a day if they wanted to drive a car away!
Also, the desk staff lied repeatedly on the phone to customers waiting to be collected from the airport, again saying that the mini bus was underway.. one staff member got quite irate with a customer who called twice over a 20 minute period asking where their pickup was! All the time they were in the office trying to extort extra money from unsuspecting customers..
When my turn finally came, I made it very clear from the outset that I was not interested in any extra insurance.. I was told I had to pay a one-way fee for returning the car at a different airport, which I totally understood and agreed to.
I was then told I had to pay €152 in advance for petrol costs, to be refunded only when the car was returned with a full tank of petrol...
Then when it came to pay, all of a sudden my credit card, which I have used all over Europe and have used extensively since, didn't go through.. my brother offered to use his, but this was declined, as only the main booker can use their card.. contacted my bank in the UK, who said all was OK, but still it wouldn't go through..
What to do? Oh wait, said the desk staff, there is one way round it; you can use your debit card, but only if you agree to buy our full insurance!!
Dirty tricks or what, that was the intention all along, force you, along with everyone else waiting whilst we were there, to buy their full insurance!
Our €188 car ending up costing us over €500!! At Heraklion Airport, the staff member came out shouting KEY before we had even had a chance to unload, explained that the promised refund on petrol would be done in the next few days by bank transfer and spirited the car away with no check-ups at all, other than looking at the petrol gauge.. we were then hoarded into the minibus and dropped off at the airport... Never Again!!!

"Avoid - dishonest practices"

Returned car to Chania airport. Have used Centauro before and they had been OK but not this time. I have never seen car rental staff inspect a car so meticulously. They were clearly trying to find damage. At one point they kept rubbing a wheel arch as if trying to create some damage. To be honest I think you could find a blemish on a brand new car if you looked hard enough. This is how Centauro now conducts itself. Anyway, they found a mark on a hub cap and claimed it was new. They then said I could either lose my €1100 deposit or pay €110 for a new hub cap. I was forced to pay the €110 or they would have taken the larger amount. There are plenty of other car hire places nearby so use them. Avoid Centauro, avoid being scammed.
