"Talk a good game but no follow through"
Basically I signed some tenants up with Mashroom by getting the tenants to sign up to the portal and went with rent collection service and 5% payment on rent. This is approved and means they and my property is insured if they pass the referencing checks.
My tenants were approved and moved in. Unfortunately the tenants couldn't pay the rent and almost a month in and no rent payment yet from them. Mashroom denied responsibility like I am meant to approve the tenants. But I was happy to approve them if they passed as I knew they were fully insured.
But they are not as Mashroom gave up on them already. So I am stuck with trash tenants who moved in without paying rent who aren't insured and fundamentally the checks I paid for to credit check them and reference check were meaningless as they are exactly the trash entitled tenants who will move In, not pay, trash and go.
If Mashroom just sell services and then avoid the responsibility they offer with an assisted service then I may as well just slum it with OpenRent. At least with OR they don't pretend to help you!

"No after service or follow through"
No after service. I used Mashroom last year for building insurance and all went well and I received a lower premium policy from my previous supplier. I contacted them again as another policy was coming up for renewal. At first the service seemed fine and attentive, but when the main person I was dealing with went on annual leave, there was no handover, and the other staff members did not seem interested in the current deadline and so this was missed. When the policies were finalised and received (3 days after the deadline), discrepancies on the polices were noted and advised and to date (7 days after), no amendments to the incorrect policies have been made and I have had no update. A simple and courteous call or email would suffice and my voicemails are not being answered.
On the face of it, they seem good, efficient and contactable, but at the heart of it, they lack follow up and conviction. Not what you need when you are setting up a policy costing over £2k. To have incorrect policies almost 2 weeks after the renewal is not acceptable. I would give these guys a miss until these issues are resolved.
