We have worked with AKW for many years now and have always found the products amazing quality coupled with a fantastic service from all the staff who we deal with. Highly recommend them if you need something quick! Excellent Service all round.

"Great Shower and Great Aftercare"

I originally purchased a Smart Care Plus shower from AKW in 2020. The shower was great and I had no issues until last year when I started having some problems. I contacted their technical team, and as the shower was still in warranty they quickly arranged one of their engineers to come out and inspect the shower.

The engineer that came out was really helpful, and he swapped the shower there and then and I've had no issues since. The shower I have now is a newer version and seems to be even better than the last one I had.

Overall I'm really pleased with both the product and the level of aftercare I received, as both the technical team and the engineer were really helpful.

"I had a council grant wet room…"

I had a council grant wet room installed 2 years ago. The first issue was the shower was luke warm and had to be replaced. A year later it was discovered thatvtge pump has leaked and saturated the wall. Now the water is not draining away and AKW want £180 upfront just to come out! Most of the people who have this equipment are disabled and the level of aftercare is appalling. How many of us can afford £180? I can't! The shower pressure has never been great and the temperature fluctuates but I've put up with that but having to mop the pool of water up every time I shower is not good as I have mobility problems and have to be supported when standing. Reading the reviews I see I'm not the only one! I am now trapped as I can't fork out that money and I'm complaining to the council to make them aware.

Complete waste of time this company I will never use this company has soon has they have sold you a product your on your own if you want to return anything all they talk about is there will be an heavy restocking charging

"Terrible product design"

My mother had a bathroom renovation for a wet room by the council & contractors who used all AKW products.
The toilet has broken 6 times in 1-2 years, 5 times being the flush mechanic and once the water filler (Layman's terms). The manufacturer AKW came out to repair it 4 of those times because of warranty. It also splashes feces and urine out of the bowl when flushed, terrible design.

"The shower is awful "

The shower is awful , I have bad arthritis especially in shoulders and the water pressure of this shower makes it impossible to have shower without pain I have long curly hair and to rinse shampoo out is absolutely horrendous, i get 4litres of water per minute and was told I should be getting 10 Litres. After enquiring to technical department was told it was adequate for me. Well no it's not , I don't like Luke warm showers and just because I'm disabled why is someone choosing how hot I can have a shower. I'm female and when it comes to washing private area the shower just dribbles down leg .. it is awful .
I had mine through a disabled grant and when I tried to say it leaves me in pain,,, I was told to buy my own shower or deal with it. IV searched and searched and asked advice and keep being told for a 9.5kw shower it should be 10 litres per minute.
This company .is disgusting and no way takes disabled people's views or opinions
We just need adequate apparently

"Absolutely shocking shower"

Absolutely shocking shower! Apparently “top of the range” smart care plus! It’s useless mayaswell stand out in the rain for how much pressure it produces!

"Low quality shower unit."

I had an AKW iTherm shower fitted by my bathroom fitter. First use was 26th Jan 2024. The shower behaved erratically for the next few weeks and we eventually had AKW attend on 12th Feb 2024 to replace the unit. One week later and the shower has developed a fault. I am now waiting for AKW to come out and replace this second unit. AKW give a 5 year warranty and so I will update this review as and when needed between now and 2029 !
Update 1 : AKW replaced my original unit on the 12th Feb 2024 with a brand new unit. This lasted until the 19th Feb 2024 when it developed exactly the same fault as the original. AKW attended again on the 21st Feb 2024 and 'repaired' the unit in situ by changing/adjusting a dip switch within the unit.
On the 26th Feb 2024 the shower started to behave erratically again barely a week after it was 'repaired'.
I now await another engineer visit to replace the whole unit !
Update 2 : AKW replaced the second unit with another unit on 28th Feb 2024.
On the 10th March 2024 this third unit seems to be behaving in exactly the same way!!

Update Jul 2024: Despite several visits from AKW and multiple 'swap outs' of units, the issues persisted. I subsequently got my bathroom fitter to remove the AKW unit and replace it with a Mira shower which has worked flawlessly ever since.

DO NOT BUY AN AKW SHOWER CARE PLUS!!! Just had one installed and it's the worst shower I've ever had! Water pressure is shocking, I'd of been as well going and standing outside when it's drizzling rain. Completely and utterly rubbish and I'll add, that was it on full power as well! These showers are meant to be for disabled/vulnerable/elderly customers but just because you come under one of those categories doesn't mean you want no pressure in your shower if anything you want your shower to have excellent pressure! Would not waste your money! It's a pity you have to give any stars at all for a review, because believe me I'd give this -5* if I could.
