Appraisily

"Not very useful"
I sent in pictures and information about a painting that I inherited. I was NOT looking for someone to tell me the painting was worth a lot... just wanted to see if an expert could tell me something. This person seemed only to just plug the pictures into a picture search. When the artist that seemed to match shared the first 3 latters of the name they declared victory and moved on.
However, the section that should have explained the match about the signature was left blank - which was diappointing because the names really only share the first 3 letters... Several follow ups went unanswered.
This does not appear to be a diligent service.

"Stolen money for no appraisal"
Regrettably, after several appraisals were done by this firm, we paid in full for a block of 6 appraisals in July which they conducted only 3... then we never heard from them again. We have tried on numerous occasions to contact them but they have taken the money and ran???
Regrettably I cannot recommend this business.
We are seeking legal redress and I am sure we are not the first as they omit their address and company registration to try to be evasive.

"This is a scam"
This is a scam! I submitted my art to be appraised and heard nothing so I emailed them asking when I should hear something. I recieved what appeared to be an auto-generated email that said my payment was received and I will have a report within 24 hours. Going on a week and after several emails I have heard nothing back from them. I don’t even see how I would request a refund. What a scam!

"Missing appraisals where are tgey"
Initially I loved this wonderful service. Until recently. I sent forms pictures and payment for 9 snuff bottles and I haven’t received the appraisals. But on the website I found 2 snuff bottles I submitted being used to advertise the services. I have sent emails used the chat service and still haven’t received the paid for appraisals.

"Top Notch Valuation Assessment"
Appraisily provided a top notch and well researched valuation analysis. As I know the artist and his work, their market research and comparable pricing approach used was spot on. Certainly, an impressive and well supported/documented valuation report that would stand up to anyone's scrutiny.
To top all that off, the price and turnaround time is hard to beat. Their service is a great value for the price - something that's hard to find these days. I'd recommend this service to anyone needing a valuation of fine art.

"I submitted two of my pieces for…"
I submitted two of my pieces for Appraisal by Andres. The first appraisal report I received was great, very detailed and informative. I was very happy with it. The second appraisal report I received from my second piece was completely inaccurate and did not even reference the actual piece for which I requested an appraisal. I sent several messages through the website and through email, requesting a refund for the inaccurate appraisal, and have not, to this date received a response of any kind. I will continue to message them until I get a refund for the second appraisal, and take my business elsewhere. The second erroneous report, referenced a completely unrelated piece, which I do not own with a different time period, and different description. I was not even given the courtesy of an apology or an acknowledgment.

"Inaccurate Appraisal and Then They Blame You, Art Appraisal?"
UPDATE: I received an email informing me that a full refund would be issued and it was. However, in the email I was blamed as the reason why the appraisal went wrong.
Andres told me that my assertions about the artwork were strong, which they were. I had purchased this painting on eBay and it was sold to me as a Nicholas Ross painting. I trusted the eBay seller because I am not an art expert.
I thought that by having this piece appraised, the expert would catch any mistakes that I had made in thinking that this was a Nicholas Ross painting. Unfortunately he didn't. He stated that due to my assertion about the artwork being so strong, he assumed that the identification was correct. He assumed that the customer is always right.
Here are my concerns for anyone looking to use appraisily for an appraisal: If appraisily goes solely by customer input to identify artwork, this could lead to a lot of misinformation about the artwork and ultimately can lead to fraud.
At no time do I remember reading that appraisily would base the identification of a piece solely on customer input. Is that truly an appraisal? That sounds more like just going with what the customer says instead of researching the piece like an expert does.
To say that I am disappointed with appraisily is a tremendous understatement. Keep in mind that this is just my experience with them. Don't base whether or not you will have your artwork appraised by appraisily solely on my review alone. I must admit that I don't recommend them nor will I use them again.
Be sure that you know for a FACT who the artist is before bringing it to be appraised by appraisily because if not, it seems that they will just go along with whatever you tell them about the artwork and you may find out later that you were duped by whoever sold you the artwork and your appraiser didn't help much either.
I stand by my one star review because the service provided by appraisily is borderline fraudulent if the art expert is just going to appraise the work based solely on what you tell them. They do also use artificial intelligence to compare your work to what is found online. AI can be flawed and inaccurate at times. It would be better if they just did an actual search online instead of using AI. The AI search is used only in conjunction with what you personally assert about the artwork, based on my experience with appraisily.
Bottom Line: Appraisily does do appraisals but they aren't what they present themselves to be. Art experts are supposed to be able to spot fakes or correct mis-information brought to them by customers who were duped. Appraisily didn't do that in my case.
I can't speak for all of their work but this is concerning. It makes me wonder how many other artworks have been mis-attributed by a customer and then not corrected by the appraiser.
I should've caught this earlier, as of the time of me writing this review, when I go to look under the "Latest Appraisals" section of appraisily, I get a bunch of informative articles but no actual appraisals. That should've been a red flag for me. I missed that one.
I hope that you have a better experience if you decide to use appraisily to appraise your artwork but I unfortunately cannot recommend them.
