"Terrible service and communication"

I purchased an iPhone from this company in 2022, advertised as “Face ID not working, everything else fully functioning.” Upon receiving the phone, I discovered the front camera was faulty, rendering FaceTime unusable. As someone who relies on the front camera daily for Zoom calls, this was a major issue. I immediately contacted the business, sent photos of the problem, and was told it was “strange” and an “easy fix.” Following their advice, I took the phone to an Apple Store for a second opinion and an estimate for repair costs. The owner dismissed Apple’s assessment, insisting it was an easy fix and instructed me to send the phone back—at my own expense.

The phone was with the company for over a week without any updates or communication. When I finally got it back, it was still unfixed. I requested a refund, which the owner refused, claiming I “knew it was faulty” when I purchased it. If that were the case, why claim the issue was strange or easily fixable? I opened a PayPal case, which prompted the owner to agree to repair the phone. However, they kept the phone for over a month this time, again with very poor communication.

During this period, I discovered that the owner had listed the faulty phone for sale on Facebook—using the photo I had sent them of my bedroom to demonstrate the issue! This invasion of privacy was shocking and unacceptable.

When the phone was finally returned, it was a completely different device. The replacement had less storage (64 GB compared to my original 512 GB) and was not in mint condition. It was effectively useless to me, as I couldn’t transfer my data or use the phone as intended. I had no prior agreement to this exchange and was extremely disappointed.

After further attempts to resolve the matter, I sent a formal letter. The owner’s response was defensive and dismissive, with excuses about how FaceTime relies on the front camera. If that was known, why not disclose it in the initial listing? Eventually, I did receive a refund, but by this point, I had lost a significant amount of time, suffered stress, and even lost access to my crypto account due to the delays and lack of communication.

I initially left a factual review on Trustpilot to share my experience. The company responded with false claims that the issue was the fault of a staff member and not representative of the business. This is inaccurate, as the owner was directly involved throughout. Following this, I received an aggressive message from the owner, accusing me of “destroying his business” and demanding that I edit or remove the review to protect his “100% score.” This unprofessional and intimidating behavior further solidified my poor impression of the company.

In summary:

The phone was misrepresented as fully functional apart from FaceTime.
The company provided poor communication, unnecessary delays, and ultimately sent a different, downgraded phone without my consent.
The owner used my photo without permission to advertise the faulty phone.
They harassed me to change my honest review.
While I eventually received a refund, this experience was unnecessarily stressful and costly. I strongly caution others against purchasing from this company.
