"Quick and efficient"
Axis Van Lines I worked with were great. They were quick, efficient and very careful with my furniture. I am so happy I chose them as my moving company. The 3 guys that moved my belongings were incredible and I will definitely want to work with them again next time I move! Thank you so much Axis Van Lines. The crew were so amazing!

"Excellent experience with moving from a…"
Excellent experience with moving from a first floor flat to a ground floor house. They were a bit late due to some issues with their truck but instead made up for it by providing an extra man for my job so in the end the job finished in lesser time and the guys were very friendly and they knew their stuff. Highly professional and went a long way to assist me in the best ways. Much appreciated and will definitely go with them the next time I'm moving and will recommend to my friends as well.

"Terrible experience! Fraud company!"
Terrible experience! Stay away from this company! This company is a fraud! We moved from Virginia to Vermont. Axis Van Line quoted $3700 to move my stuff. When it went close to our moving date, the pickup time changed twice. We had to make changes according to their unsettled plan. Then the worst nightmare came, the real charge went up to $13400, which was 4 times of they quoted, after they loaded the truck! We called to talk about the charge. The same guy who quoted the price became super rude! He blamed us for not providing the entire details, which was completely not true! We provided him all the details when we did the quote, we also offered a video chat so he could see everything in the house, but he refused! We finally realized this is the way how they bring in business, by giving a cheap quote then raising the price up after they load up everything!
Axis Van Line is a broker, and they will find another moving company to move the stuff. They will ignore you once you pay the deposit. Don’t believe in their quote and don’t use this company! I will report this company to BBB.

"Thank you very much"
Guys at Axis Van Lines were absolutely amazing! Very professional, punctual, and quick! This was the best move I’ve ever had! They took great care with my items and were very positive. I’ve moved a lot in my life and never had a moving company so awesome! I’ll definitely be using them for any and all moves I have in this area. I can’t say enough good things. Moving from a 3rd floor apartment with heavy items, I was worried but these guys made it look easy and were very pleasant to work with. If I could give them 20 stars, I would 🙂

"Horrible long distance move - would not recommend"
Everything was great when we booked the move. Charles in sales was very responsive and walked us through the process. The moving van showed up at our home on time to pick up our belongings on time and packed them with care. We felt really good about our decision.
The problems began when we called Axis a few weeks later to get our items moving, as we had them place in storage temporarily while we found a home. I called the mover directly (Best Price Movers out of Chicago) and reached Mary. I gave her the move-in date and she said it would be up to 10 business days from the time we move in. Fine. I called her a few days later and she told us there was no truck and to call a few days later. I continually called her every few days but noticed each time it went to voicemail. It got so bad trying to reach Best Price that I called everyone at Axis looking for an answer. Nobody there was helpful in connecting me to Best Price. I asked my fiance to call right after I did and because his number was from a Chicago area code, she answered the call right away. So the mover responsible for our items was screening my calls. Wonderful. She sent an email to he and I that our truck would arrive in the next week. It was just outside the 14 day window but we were willing to overlook that to get our things.
I received a call on moving day from Moving Systems with a Las Vegas area code (?). It was the driver delivering our items. He informed us there was a 5-8pm delivery window which was fine. We called around 7:45pm as they still had not showed up. They told us they were still in another state doing a move. Fast forward, they arrived at 11:44pm on Friday night. The one lead mover was unapologetic and extremely rude to us right from the get go. When we asked to see inside the van to ensure our belongings were accounted for, he refused and said that we had to pay him the remainder of the deposit and then they would unload our items. We questioned this immediately but he was adamant that he would leave with our stuff if we didn't pay him the remainder of the money. Because we were paying him in cash, we asked if he would come inside our apartment lobby to keep it discreet. He laughed in our face and rolled his eyes at this request. The mover was extremely unclear about what to do about missing and damaged items. I asked him repeatedly what to do about missing boxes and he insisted I write it on a copy of the invoice. He then kept the invoice so I have no record of anything missing. There was no form to inventory this which is extremely shady and unprofessional. They were clearly tired and did not care at all about our stuff, or our apartment. There are scuff marks all over the floors and walls from their entrance and exit. Not a great start, but it gets worse.
Looking at our items from the outside once the movers left - all of the boxes but two were completely ripped open and exposed the insides. They looked totally beat up. I am not sure what happened, but we were missing 6 large moving boxes as we bought all uniform ones just for the move. We started to think that they went missing. However, we quickly figured out that those 6 boxes broke open in transit and the movers just haphazardly threw random parts and pieces into new boxes without packaging them appropriately (ie, bubble wrap, cloth, etc) or labeling the boxes. It took us forever to catalog what was missing.
Now, onto the stuff inside the boxes. I'll briefly mention that many items are missing, damaged or destroyed. However, that is not the worst of it. Items that were in those ripped open boxes somehow got wet somehow and subsequently, everything in them smelled like mildew. Many boxes had tree leaves and vegetation in them. Electronics were thrown into these boxes and were destroyed because they got wet. So many of our precious glass items were shattered due to being thrown in new boxes without care. Also notably, my front bike tire is bent to the point where it is parallel to the handlebars.
Worst of all: Our stuff was either stored in a warehouse with, or rode out to our new home with, a smoker's belongings. Every single thing we unpacked from the boxes smelled like smoke. We were up until 5am that night breaking down boxes to go to the recycling bin, and putting clothes in trash bags, just to avoid our place smelling like smoke. We spent the entire weekend laundering every piece of clothing we have. The smell permeated through our apartment for days and it sickens me at how much we had to throw away.
Bottom line: There are a lot of good reviews on this company, and I agree they are truthful. It is all about the mover that Axis hires. The one they hired for us was a bad apple and it ruined our moving experience. It was so bad that we have vowed to never use a moving service ever again.

"Terrible experience"
Terrible experience ! Booked a month before our pick up date, they never confirmed our two day window pick up date, called like crazy, they never showed up. Nor had answer of why they dropped us. Left us stranded, beware as they will become non responsive. Our deposit has not even been refunded. Dealt with Charlie Stevens, Wes Tyler, Christine, Julie.

"Good job"
We contracted with Axis Van Lines to move some king size bedroom furniture from our house to a house approx. 2 miles away. The response time to my request was prompt and communication was excellent. We had to reschedule due to the ice storm, and that was not a problem. The 3 movers who showed up (on time) were pleasant, professional, and expeditious. Their price was very reasonable especially since these were some very big items. They took great care with the items and made the move with no damage at all to the furniture or the homes. So glad to know about Axis Van Lines and will definitely use them again. Thanks.

"Excellent job!!"
Moving with Axis Van Lines was so easy and quick! They really are professional and experienced. I worked with them last month for my long-distance move and they moved me so well! The foreman and his helpers were very sweet, nice and also very efficient. They took very good care of me. My antiques, my art, my glassware’s and everything I own was all nicely packed and moved. I did not find a single problem! They are very professional indeed! I highly recommend them to all.

"Do not use!"
On 9/23/20, I contacted Ben Curtiss with Axis Van Lines to get a quote for a move from Brooklyn, NY, to Woodbury, MN. On that call, I listed all of the things that we would be bringing with us so that Ben could get us what he said would be a final price. He emailed me a contract and indicated over the phone and in the email that the price ($3,303.26) was fixed and would not change. He promised me on the phone that my possessions would be the only things on the truck and that it would take only 2.5-3 days for my possessions to arrive. He said that our move day (10/19/20) was guaranteed. I signed the contract and paid a deposit of $1099.60 based on those promises. Several days later, I received a call from Kristen in customer service. At that point, I learned that there was need of a backup day, but not knowing this I had booked a flight for 10/20/20. Kristen told me that she would make my backup day be 10/18, the day before my scheduled pickup day. On 10/9/20, I received a text message from Axis Van Lines saying that my primary pickup day was now 10/18/20 and my backup day was 10/19/20. I called customer service and spoke with Dianne, who told me that a backup day could only be the day after a primary pickup day, so I would have to have my primary pickup day be Sunday, 10/18/20. It was at this point that I found out my things would NOT be the only possession on a truck and that the moving time would take between 7 and 21 days and that the price we were told by Ben was not fixed, but would change based on the actual cubic feet of our move. When I said that was not the agreement I had made with Ben, I was told that Ben was fired for lying to his clients. This was the first I was being told about this, 16 days after I had booked my move with him and only because I had reached out, not Axis checking with me to make sure that I had the correct information. At this point, it was too late to withdraw from my contract with Axis, request a refund of my deposit, and book a new moving company. On 10/12/20, I was called by a quality assurance representative who went over my inventory list again and raised the price to $4,609.30, a $1,306.04 increase. He also charged me a new deposit fee of $281.84. On 10/16, I received a call from Potential Van Lines, the actual movers that Axis Van Lines had subcontracted out to, telling me that my possessions would be packed and moved on 10/19. When I told the dispatch person that I was supposed to have my things moved on Sunday, 10/18, as per Axis Van Lines (Dianne), she said that that was impossible and that Dianne knew that because Potential Van Lines is closed on Sundays. This meant that I and my spouse had to change our work schedules and moving plans three times before we received a final moving date. When the movers arrived on 10/19, the moving foreman raised the price to $6,627.44 (a $3,324.18 increase from the initial "fixed price" we were promised). I asked the foreman why the price had increased and he said that despite the inventory being accurate, that brokers like Axis would misquote cubic feet to get people to book with them, but that movers used the actual cost. My possessions were delivered on 10/24/20, but on 10/27/20 I reached out to Axis to ask for a partial refund do to their unscrupulous business practices. I spoke with Kristen in customer service, who relayed my information to her manager, Lee Powell, and was told I would hear from him by 10/28 in the morning. After I called back on 10/28 after not hearing from Lee, I received a call from someone identifying himself as Dave Lee from Genesis Resolution Solutions, an outside investigator who "monitored Axis Van Lines' chat" and brought moving companies to arbitration if they violated business practices. He collected my information and emailed me from a Gmail account with the sender name "Lee Powell" with a phone number that was one digit off from Axis Van Lines' customer service. The email warned against making any public complaints.
Axis Van Lines has repeatedly lied about the services they would provide and the prices at which they would provide them. When I attempted to resolve my issues with them and request a partial refund, I was sent an intimidating email from the business manager posing as someone meant to work on the customers' behalf. When I have since attempted to re-contact anyone higher up than the customer service representatives who answer Axis' phones, I am told that they can only relay my message to Lee and that he will have to call me back. I want a refund of the $3,324.18 increase in services above the originally quoted price and an apology for their bad behavior.
