"Its not Simple to arrange a return...."
I purchased a Unico Hammock Stand. It arrived a week ago. The packaging was open. My big mistake was accepting the delivery. I should have rejected it.
Once I got the box opened, I noticed the stand was damaged and within an hour and half I had contacted the company to arrange a return.
At the top of there website it was "Simply 365 days free returning" This is absolutely not the case.
The company has a returns portal that offers 3 ways of returning their products. Two of them won't work because the stand is bigger and heavier than their couriers will take. The third option involves you using your own courier.
I discovered that it was going to cost me more than 50% of the value of the stand to return the packing. As you can imagine, I was annoyed. The product after all was damaged.
I contacted customer support and after some back and forth they suggested I use their preferred courier to ship the product back. This return cost would be reasonable and they agreed to refund that cost. This was my second mistake, when I looked at the couriers website, it was clear that my package was too big for them. I went back and explained that to them. I was told by support just to use Hermes and it would be fine. It wasn't. Hermes, refused the package and since then customer support have been ignoring my emails.
I have a massive package blocking my front door and I think this company is hoping I will just go away.

Update 25th November. I can confirm that I’ve been refunded for the stand. However, I am still waiting for the company to arrange collection of the stand. That don’t seem to want to do this due to the collection cost. I’ve got no way of disposing of the stand unless I pay the council to take it away. This is not acceptable. The product was not fit for propose and your customer should not have to pay money to get rid of it.
Furthermore, the company still hasn’t repaid the abortive collection charges, which I have previously been told they would do. So I’m still rather unhappy
I simply want them to arrange collection and refund my costs. I will continue to update with progress until this has been resolved

This will be my final update. In total there have been over 20 emails exchanged. Customer service has been terrible and my main issue has not been resolved.

I purchased the hammock with screws costing £85 however didn’t want the purchase to return it the very next day. Still have not received my refund even though I have emailed them several times. Very poor customer service and still £85 down. DO NOT BUY FROM COMPANY
