"Got my first bike delivered and it was…"

Got my first bike delivered and it was faulty had to be sent back they then sent me a new bike out to which had a bent derailleur which I took to my local bike shop and they fixed e city give me the money back but now my battery is playing up keeps cutting don’t last I’ve have emailed and emailed the company everyday for a whole week and Ive got ignored my battery is still under warranty so is my bike aswell the bike isn’t even a year old such poor service still haven’t heard anything from them NOT HAPPY

I bought a Ebike it didn’t work after a number of emails and phone calls
Said they would replace it it’s now a week and the haven’t given me a return address I’m starting to get a bit concerned iv received a replacement bike and it has the same problems will not work in number of assistance’s including the throttle Speedo doesn’t work as well I’m trying to get my money back I’m going to Visa card to get a claw back

"Terrible customer service."

Terrible customer service.

Delivered a bike and the crank bar fell off within a day. When I complained they mention that they'll send a replacement screw and the screw took a week to arrive and was the wrong size. Frustrated I asked for a refund and they outright refused.

I raised it with my bank and complained about them and eventually got my money back MONTHS later for the faulty product they had delivered. Then they started spamming my emails calling a fraud and threatening to call the police on me. Like what? They were even sending someone to knock on my house door even when I said I wasn't in. I should be the one calling the police.

"Battery Removal"

Have had the bike a few months now and I'm more than happy with it. I have been able to remove the battery for safe storage over the winter period. These Batteries like don't cold temperatures.

"Highly Recommend. Great Company."

Before ordering my electric bike, I did a lot of research and found a lot of companies are selling electric bikes which are not road legal in the UK (The motor can not be bigger than 250w)
E-City Cycles explained the rules and comply with them fully.
So I ordered my E-City cycle on the Monday and had it delivered on the Wednesday. Great service from the company.
The bike arrived well packed and with minimal assembly required, I had it together in ten minuets.
The bike was already fully charged.
The instructions to operate the bike were basic and I feel a bit more explanation on the different modes should of been included. However I soon got the idea what each mode is capable of doing.
Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and with the Company.
I will recommend them to all my friends.

I have had my fat tyre bike for a month now, what a dream and a very valuable purchase i must say compared with others i have paid more for in the past elsewhere. I have just received one of the e-city cycles for my wife and she loves that too! great customer service

"My experience has been very poor"

My experience has been very poor. I would not recommend these dealers to anyone.
My bike was in a dangerous condition due to a fault a point of manufacture and poor pre-sale check.
After ordering my electric bike through the company, it arrived late with damage to the electric cables. To save shipping costs they suggested I should have it repaired locally.
I bought the commuter version to commute both sides of my train journey. In the first two weeks of using the bike, the shaft and pedal came off in peak hour traffic in London. I had this fixed.
The chain then came off a number of times before snapping, wrapping around the rear wheel causing it to lock up and skid uncontrollably in busy traffic.
As a result I had the bike examined by a local bike shop who replaced the chain, they determined that the front cog and rear cog were misaligned on manufacture. They recommended that it wasn’t used in traffic until this is fixed as the chain would continue to come off as soon as any significant pressure is applied, which it does, rendering the bike dangerous and useless for commuting.
I contacted the company to point out the faults and discuss getting the bike repaired or replaced. They put the phone down mid conversation as soon as I mentioned remedying the situation. They then refused to take my calls and have now suggested (on their website) that I didn’t buy the bike from them in the first place.

In view of this and the potential dangers presented by this bike I am funding my own repairs and referring the matter to trading standards to try to resolve it.

Thanks for your reply, sadly you continue to reinforce my poor opinion and increase disappointment of your company and its administrative processes

I have confirmation of the £99 deposit paid to e-city cycles limited at 17.48 on 23rd March 2021

The settlement of a further £600 also paid to e-city cycles limited at 16.45hrs on 21st May 2021.  As a result, my contract for the purchase of the bike is with e-city cycles.

On 21st June 2021 I received a £20 refund from E-city cycles limited to cover the cost of the repairs to the wiring that I reported broken when I received the cycle.

I am sure that you can trace my purchase through your accounts and provide the reference number if is critical to confirm that the cycle was bought through you.
