With the help of Francis Frith, I was able to find the most charming and atmospheric 1920s photo of the street where my son and his family have recently bought a Grade 2 listed cottage. The upper storey of the cottage can be clearly seen above a brick wall that is still there, with the listed pub a little way down the road, and the cathedral in the distance. They were absolutely amazed and thrilled with this special gift, which is already a treasured heirloom. The people at Francis Frith were wonderful, patiently answering my many questions and taking the greatest care to make sure everything would be exactly right.
