This purchase was a 376-page Yachtsman Guide entitled "Greek Waters Pilot", it's a cruising guide for yachties/sailors. On the IMRAY website, there was an option to download a PDF format, so I elected to do that. After purchasing, I was informed by the system that to download file, I must first have installed Google Chrome and some Google Book app. I did not want either one of those, but I installed them so I could simply download the PDF. After numerous failed attempts to download the PDF file, I gave up and called Google. After ~30 minutes of holding, the Google representative told me that the PDF version is not downloadable at the request of the publisher. Well that didn't make any sense, but Google gladly refunded my money right away. So, I ordered the paper book and it was promptly shipped to me. I was surprised to find that it's a 376 page book with hardback binding and cover. Both the PDF and the Book are poor options to consider, for a sailor traveling to Greece to sail the Cyclades/Aegean Sea. Yachtsman guides are more commonly spiral-bound with Laminated covers, being more ideal for traveling and yachting. This book is 12"x8.5", hardbound with hardback, and it weighs very near 5lbs. It was flown to me in Arizona USA, and now I have to fly to Athens with it in my backpack. It's inconvenient for me and my crew, and it seems very unnecessary to print 376 pages of paper in poor format, then fly it across the Atlantic twice at my expense. Furthermore, now there is no convenient and legal way to share the book's pertinent info with my crew pre-trip. With all of that said, I believe the actual content of the book is 5-star quality, but my rating here is only a 2 for the reasons above, itemized below.
1. A PDF file that you cannot download serves no purpose whatsoever.
2. Being required to download a Google-specific browser, then a Google-specific application, to access a Read-Only" PDF file is maddening to customers and bad for business. Nobody's life, leisure, or business should ever "require" Google.
3. All of the natural resources that went into printing and transporting this book we're expended completely unnecessarily.
4. The book is too heavy too big and too hardbound for a traveling captain or crew.
