Peter James was excellent, being new to the world of Whisky he was able to guide me to the correct cask for my budget. I have visited Peter and the team at their Liverpool Street offices and we later visited a Whisky bar - where we tried the same exact Whisky that I have a cask of! I was spammed by this company for their “investment opportunity” in the past and clicked “unsubscribe”. Here we are and again they are spamming me to invest in Cask Whiskey.

As an investment professional and a CFA I can tell you that you should be extremely skeptical. An investment in a physical product like this will have very high fees for climate controlled storage, security, management and commissions. Be extremely skeptical about any claims regarding “returns” or “appreciation” as these will be difficult to verify and possibly incorrect.

And finally, why would you want to invest with a company who spams random email addresses to solicit investors? Caveat emptor!

Update: The reply from the company below says I previously subscribed. I can assure you that is incorrect. I would never subscribe to something like this. Perhaps they paid an email list provider or got my email from some other means, but it was clearly not a vetted provider. I never subscribed to this. The first time I got an email from them I clicked "unsubscribe", yet weeks later I received another spam email.

Again, I would caution you to take claims of returns with a huge dose of salt. Their spam says "In 2021 the average annual capital growth rate for whisky was 13.1%". That is not what their investors earned, that is a claimed gain rate from a source that probably doesn't include fees. Caevat Emptor!
