I ordered these meals for a family member so I have no idea (yet) how good the meals were. Ordering the meals was easy. The menu looks delicious. I understand, but wish the meals would have arrived quicker (probably me being impatient). If I ever get my relative on the phone to ask what he thought of the meals, I’ll let you know.

The web site is easy to navigate except for making changes such as delivery dates. Could not figure out how to do it so I could not make the change. Other than that excellent service.

"EGREGIOUSLY DISAPPOINTED GRANDDAUGHTER"
I live in the Virgin Islands, which makes it impossible to celebrate special days with family during a pandemic. We wanted to send a special meal to my mother in NC to try to make her 80th (!!!) birthday special, as Covid precluded us from our tradition of making the meal of her choice on her birthday, WHICH SHE SPENT ALONE.
On Saturday, Oct 30 I ordered lobster ravioli & dessert, selecting FEDEX OVERNIGHT at the cost of over $50 shipping, as this was the only selection that would get to her on November 3, Tuesday. On SUNDAY I received an email "confirming" my order TO BE DELIVERED NOVEMBER 4! There is NO PHONE NUMBER to call Send A Meal (very suspicious), so I emailed my upset to them I told them if they could not get my order to NC by Nov 3 AS THE SITE SAID THEY COULD TWO DAYS BEFORE, my elderly mother would spend her birthday alone without her usual special meal (she does not cook), RUINING her birthday; and that if they could not fulfill my order AS PROMISED, it should be canceled, leaving me with no options at that late date.
The rather glib reply I received essentially said: "We cannot fulfil your order to be delivered on November 3. Per your request, it has been canceled. Have a nice day."
My daughter and I were in tears, and finally forced to spend $100 (almost twice the price) to have Lobster Mac and Cheese shipped overnight from Maine Lobster Now. This was ordered 11pm Sunday November 1, SHIPPED OVERNIGHT VIA FED EX, and arrived in NC at 3pm on November 3, bringing a warm, comforting gourmet meal to my mother, who said it was delicious and made her day. A cake from Harry & David - also ordered late Sunday night - arrived VIA FED EX later that day, further enriching her special day as she unwrapped the several gifts we had sent.
I cannot stress strongly enough my antipathy for Send A Meal, a company that clearly does not care about PEOPLE. I will be disseminating this tale of the atrocious NON-SERVICE we experienced on every salient social media platform I can.
STAY AWAY FROM SEND A MEAL.
They DO NOT care about you.
I have owned a popular, successful restaurant in St. John for 17 years, where we CARE for our GUESTS, regularly exceeding expectations and making our service PERSONAL, so I do know what great service is, and how it can change a stranger's day for the better.
Send A Meal apparently does not even know what ADEQUATE service is, and changed our day in the most negative way possible. (I suppose they could have kept our money, which would have been worse.)
Send a meal may provide adequate service AT BEST; though I can't really say, as they were INCAPABLE OF DOING WHAT THEY PROCLAIMED THEY WOULD, and had NO OPTION TO CALL and speak to a "real live person;" while TWO other companies had no problem with shipping OVERNIGHT because they OFFERED FED EX OVERNIGHT, just as Send A Meal erroneously said they did.
I am not generally a spiteful person, but nothing would make me happier than for Send A Meal to GO OUT OF BUSINESS.
If any of my restaurant guests were even a modicum as upset with their experience at Rhumb Lines as I am, I would not only comp the whole table, I would GIVE THEM A CERTIFICATE TO RETURN FOR A FREE TASTING DINNER, with the code "MVIP" in the corner. This indicates to my staff that a Mistake was made with their last experience, and should receive exceptional, VIP treatment at our expense of average $50pp, and a visit from me or my husband.
I am simply disgusted and dismayed at this kind of cavalier treatment of the client by ANY conpany. Send A Meal exceeded every negative experience I have had with ordering online.
I would give them ZERO stars if that were a possibility.

"Good food but terrible service and late delivery"
I ordered this meal for my parent’s anniversary. With COVID we couldn’t travel so I wanted to send a great meal they could enjoy with little prep. I ordered the meal on Monday, October 26th. I paid extra for the shipping to ensure the meal arrived by Friday, October 30th as the special day was the 31st. I never received tracking so Friday I contacted customer service. The hours for customer service is limited so I had wouldn’t hear anything until Monday. The meal never showed up. Monday I finally heard from customer service. The meal had never been sent out. The only tracking was for a new ticket processed on Monday.
My parents finally receive the meal. I will say they did say the food was very good and easy to prepare. Also after talking to customer service I was told the shipping charges would be waived which is why I gave two stars instead of one star. However based on the experience I would not recommend this service for any special occasion or holiday as based on my experience I could not trust the meal would arrive on time.

Sending a "like home cooked " meal to my SIL following surgery, was a great option! She and her husband said the Shepherd's, the Lobster Bisque soup and the apple tartlets were all great!! The box came on the day promised and was frozen and ready for the freezer until they choose to eat it! So many options of meals available!!

Sent 4 meals to my sister & her husband, who has ALS & requires a great deal of care. Delivery occurred on time & they reported their first meal, lobster ravioli, was great.

I placed an order for an e-certificate on 10/24/20. Haven’t gotten a response from the recipient to confirm receipt of the gift. Contacted customer service 10/28/20 in an attempt to see if their records confirm recipient received e-gift. Customer service instructions online specifically caution Against Calling the 1-800 number and state inquiries about orders will get faster responses via email instead of over the phone. I left a message online for customer service on 10/28/20, and I’m Still waiting to hear from someone. I have not heard from customer service about my order, but I have gotten 2 requests to complete a survey about my experience over the past week. Needless to say, I’m not impressed to get emails about surveys and No emails or follow up about my order. It’s Not a good feeling to know one’s money (in the form of an electronic gift card) is lingering somewhere in cyberspace with no accountability and no one seeming to care.

Everything was in good order but the dry ice was just about gone...this went to Florida so I guess keep that in mind to ensure food safety
