I lived in an apartment unit for over two years. The unit was very old with limited facilities. One day, a light shade in a bedroom fell suddenly and I informed the property manager about it. I informed this during a routine inspection as well. They also witnessed the shade and agreed that the shade fell due to the disintegration of plastics over time. The property management promised to replace it but they did not do as promised. Now they have retained about $150 from my bond to replace it. When I inquire about it, they simply say that the owner wants the amount to be retained from me. This is very unfair and I feel that I am being ripped off.

Unlike traditional realestate companies, where there is both sales and rentals management, the focus here can be solely placed on managing our investment.
