"The Best Service!"

I recently purchased a Breitling watch from Michael Jones and I have to say, the service was exceptional and they went above and beyond for me.

The back story - I had originally purchased a Breitling watch from Goldsmiths (IWC) for my partner for his 50th Birthday. I viewed the watch in my local Goldsmith store and decided it was the one I wanted to buy for this special occasion. The sales assistant wanted me to buy it then and there in the store (of course, they work on commission) and told me that if I purchased it that day I would have the watch (quote) in my hand within 7 days and I would receive a free Mont Blanc pen. However, I wanted to go away and do some sums as it was more than I initially planned to spend. Having decided to go ahead and purchase I ordered it on their website, where it stated the same delivery of 7 days. After 7 days having received no communication from goldsmiths, I called them only to be told that - no - I wouldn't have the watch in 7 days as there is a 4-6 week lead time. I was understandably disappointed by this as this was not what they tell you at the point of sale. However, given this was March and my partner's birthday was in May I accepted this. 6 weeks would mean it would arrive a week before his 50th Birthday.

On the day of the end of the 6 weeks, I received a call from Goldsmiths to say that the watch wasn't coming. Breitling had said that the watches would be sent out POSSIBLY some time mid May but they couldn't guarantee. Not only could Breitling not provide a time frame for delivery, Goldsmiths also would not guarantee my order. They basically said that they had sold a few of these watches and wasn't sure how many Breitling would be sending and if they didn't send enough to fulfill all of their orders then some would get cancelled. So now I'm in a situation where i had purchased this watch, given them almost £4k, was told i would have the watch in 7 days and after 6 weeks of waiting they couldn't guarantee when i would get the watch or even if i would get one from them at all. SO i cancelled the order.

I then spend an entire day searching the internet for this watch, calling Jewellers that had this watch on their website to see if they actually had it in stock for me to buy and receive in time for my partners 50th birthday. Most were saying the same - they didn't actually stock it, it comes from Breitling and there would be some significant lead time. I was about to give up!

I then came across Michael Jones Jeweller website. They had it in stock on their site, which i knew didn't necessarily mean thay they had it in stock, and i called them. A really lovely lady in their Northampton store said that she would call around all of their stores to see if they actually had it in stock. Within 30 minutes she called me back to say that they did in fact have one at their Banbury store.
She immediately reserved it for me, had it removed from their website so that no one else could purchase it and arranged for it to be couried from their Banbury store to their Northampton store where they have a Breitling ambassador on their staff.
She then said that as soon as it arrived at their store and had been quality checked by their Breitling amasador (Who's name i think was Sam) then they would call me to go go ahead with the sale.

Sam called me a whole day earlier than promised, to let me know that the watch was perfect and ready for me to purchase. He then called his IT team to get the to list it back on the website so that i could go online and complete a secure payment. He then sent it to me via special delivery that same day, The next day before 1pm the watch arrived, brand new perfect condition, the exact watch i wanted and packaged beautifully.

They literally turned this all around for me in less than 48 hours, going above and beyond to make sure that i had the perfect gift for my partner a full 5 days before his birthday. They are a small business in comparison to the IWC whom own Goldsmiths and they managed to do something that an international company couldn't do.

I found their whole service to be professional, yet completely personal. They went above and beyond for me and i cant thank them enough. I will be making all future purchases through Michael Jones.

Suzannah at the Grosvenor Centre store could not have been more helpful when choosing our wedding rings. My partner couldn’t find a ring he wanted so Suzannah arranged for his bespoke design to be made and it is absolutely stunning. She kept in touch along the way with updates on when it was going to be ready to collect. My ring is also perfect and we can’t wait for our big day so we can wear them!

Having had no luck with other high-street jewelers, I went into Michael Jones having walked passed them in Northampton. I immediately noticed how much better their rings were, so decided to go in. I initially asked to look at one ring I liked, but Susie brought me a selection of others with a similar style. Should she not have done this, I wouldn't have found the ring that my partner is utterly obsessed with. Susie really took the time to explain the difference in rings, their clarity and rarity etc. Throughout she wasn't forceful in the slightest and if anything, asked me if I wanted to go away and think about my decision. Thank you Susie!

Purchased a watch from Simon at the Banbury Store - the service was superb. Due to covid the store had been closed but Simon made a real effort to keep in contact with me on a regular basis. When the store reopened Simon quickly contacted me to book an appointment so I could come in and look at some watches. I have no hesitation in recommending Michael Jones Banbury if you wish to purchases watches and items of jewellery

Excellent service, as always! I have been using Michael Jones, Banbury since buying our wedding rings there almost 30 years ago, it's the best shop in the area for special gifts and jewellery. My son recently purchased a watch from Simon, he was extremely helpful and had great product knowledge. He made sure my son got exactly what he wanted, and wasn't pushy. Thank you!

Shocking service from this company. Very happy to take my order and payment in full but no goods sent, no communication and when I’ve tried to call, email or contact via social media.. absolute radio silence. Avoid them. I’ve bought many things from the shop directly, this being the first and last time online.
