MTN DAYS

"My go-to guide for mountain fun!"
I’ve been out in the hills with Tony from MTN Days on several occasions dating back to 2015 when Tony helped me get into shape for Kilimanjaro. The latest edition was a monster 13+ hour day on Ben Nevis doing a route we would never have dreamed of without Tony.
Tony is approachable and incredibly generous with his time and knowledge, getting to know you and your abilities/comfort levels in order to tailor your experience. On go-day he is a calming and reassuring presence allowing you to focus on achieving your goals and having fun while doing it.
I couldn’t recommend this outfit enough; in fact I should be a brand ambassador! Go ahead and book yourself a Tony today, you won’t regret it.

"Amazing trips led by Tony Ward…"
We would thoroughly recommend Tony Ward as your tour guide. We were a mixed ability family group, 30s to 60s, and Tony took us out exploring on two occasions. He judged our abilities well and took us to places we would never have visited on our own, and helped us to do things we would never have done without his encouragement and support. His knowledge of the area was extensive and his care of us exemplary. All the simple basics of travel and parking ran seamlessly smoothly. We saw lake views and magical waterfalls. We walked along Scout Scar, explored the fantastic Cathedral Cave and found the mystical money tree. We ended each trip with great memories and fabulous photos. Oh and he knows some fabulous places to eat too!

"Perfectly chosen route with spectacular views!"
Tony, our guide, led us on a circular walk from Ambleside up to Wansfell Pike and returning via Jenkin’s Crag. We were a group of varied ability, but the walk was selected well, with a good mix of cool woodland trail, an ascent to the pike up an ever steepening path, and a gentle walk back to Ambleside via Jenkin’s Crag. Tony was a great guide, advising on how to tackle the steeper, more rocky sections, and quick to point out various features of the landscape along the way. We were rewarded for our efforts with spectacular views over Lake Windermere! Tony clearly has a great love, knowledge and enthusiasm for the outdoors and makes a perfect guide. Cannot recommend him more highly!

"A tailored experience from an passionate guide"
Its clear that Tony has a real passion for the outdoors and sharing that passion with others. He has a very relaxed and confident manner which helps put you at ease when tackling a new environment or skill.
Mountain areas are not somewhere I have experience in and don’t always feel comfortable in exposed areas but Tony has helped with my confidence and technique to understand how best to navigate these situations and even enjoy them.
Tony has a wide breadth of knowledge and experience and was able to tailor the activity to suit my level of ambition whilst also challenging me. I would highly recommend Tony as a guide.

"Tony is awesome!"
Can’t recommend Tony highly enough. His knowledge of The Lakes is incredible. We had an amazing day walking Helvellyn. With Tony’s expertise and calm reassurance, I wasn’t scared at all (despite tricky weather conditions). I just loved it.

"Tony took really good care of us"
Tony took really good care of us, we’re not experienced climbers, and some of the routes we did we would not have attempted without the expert help given. Thank you for a great day 👍

"Kendal Running Workshop"
I did a running workshop with Tony in and around Kendal which was really good. He’s super knowledgeable not just with the routes and area but also clued up on the modifications you can make to your running techniques to make the most of the trails. Would thoroughly recommend! Nice guy to chat to as well.

"This guy....."
I have been out with Tony on two occasions - once solo and the other with a group. Tony's love of the mountains and his expert knowledge means that even when you feel you are pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, you still feel safe. That might sound contradictory but it lends itself to the whole thing being an outright amazing experience. Tony is confident and good natured but also sensitive to what you want to get out of the experience. He is also generous with his expertise - when we came across some lost hikers he ended up reassuring them and they promptly followed us until they knew where they were.
