"Amazing trip filled with adventure and relaxation"

The itinerary was really well made, a great mix of jam packed days and chill, relaxing by the beach. Our guide Sheena was incredible, super friendly helpful, and supportive throughout the time. She was constantly looking for feedback and catering the trip to our wants and needs. I would recommend this to any solo traveler looking for an opportunity to meet and bond with new people and see the best of the Philippines!

"Palawan is Beautiful"

There was a great balance between island hopping and having time to chill out at the accommodation or do your own thing. Sheena was an amazing group leader, she’s so much fun and you can tell she really loves Palawan!

"Unprofessional guide"

Unfortunately we had an unprofessional tour guide; for example, when we asked for food recommendations he said ‘I don’t know google it’!! He often got drunk and would arrive hungover the next morning almost an hour after we were told to meet. This was a shame as the actually planned activities on the tour were enjoyable.
Luckily the second half of the tour we had a different tour guide who was lovely but overall I was disappointed.

"Stunning trip that couldve been better"

Likes
Eileen took over the tour half way and was a great tour guide - very helpful and thorough.
The island hopping trips were great - amazing scenery and organised well. Scenery unreal.
The cultural day was probably the best day - very well organised, really interesting and a lot of great fun. To do the ziplining and ending on the beach was great planning.
The Spin Hostel in el Nido was of good standard.

Dislikes
Firstly - 10 day tour is misleading. Its actually an 8 day tour as the first day starts late and doesn't involve leaving the hostel. Last day ends at 10am so isn't really a day.
Our first tour guide (first half) wasn't great at all. I didn't feel like we really knew the plan each day and there was a lack of professionalism I feel. Nice enough person but I expected much more from a tour guide.
To ask everyone to wake up at 3am on the first night really left us shattered for a couple of days. I thought it was a poor start to the trip.
We spent a day at Puerto princesa - but aside from the underground river, I thought it was a pointless stop. The stop at iwahig prison was a bit weird, I expected us to do more there than just watch the prisoners dance and then leave. Then to drop us off at a mall and leave us there was strange. I feel like we should have done the underground river and then just continued to port Barton.

The accomodation across the trip(aside from Spin in El Nido) was not up to the standard I was expecting. Far too hot with no/minimal Aircon and theyre not even cleaning while we are away. Just meant that I didn't have good sleep or much rest until later on in the trip.
The island stay was similar experience too - I didn't expect Aircon there naturally but tents were not a good idea with the heat. Very uncomfortable sleep again.

All in all - the second half of the trip really made up for the poor start, mostly due to the improved guide and planning . The accomodation was a real let down on the trip but the stunning landscape and lovely people made it much easier to deal with.
One Life are clearly well liked in the region so really believe they can improve this trip.

"Great highlights, fantastic people but some improvements could be made!"

Had a great time on the tour and met some fantastic people along the way.

Pros:
- The items on the itinerary were excellent (although im not so sure about watching the inmates dance, that was a little uncomfortable)
- The food was good (as a vegetarian too!)
- The guys looking after us on the boat where lovely.
- no major hiccups in terms of transport and the van was very comfortable...little games made the time go by quicker!

Cons:
- Accomodation in Port Barton should have been better
- While labelled a 10 day tour, the first day was just dinner at the hostel, the second last day was a free day and the last day is just checkout. So bare that in mind.
- The scheduling could have been better. A 2:30 am alarm on the first night to catch a flight is not ideal. Should book these flights far earlier to get an appropriate flight time.

All in all, while a little pricy, it was a good experience.

"Japan 14 Day"

I did the japan 14 day tour. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable from everything from history to great spots to eat. The itinerary was everything I could have hoped for and more, we covered everything from the modern sights of Tokyo to the more culture and traditional side of Kyoto and takayama.
