Working with Mona has made mine and my students' perspectives of math change completely. What used to be monotonous lessons are now filled with productive struggle, reasoning, critical thinking, problem solving discussions and so much more. Mona's knowledge of math and classroom experiences have taught me the importance of letting the students take the reigns and lead themselves through the processes to solve. Rather than just knowing the the algorithm, my students can articulate how or why they are doing something in the mathematical process. Meeting with Mona weekly has provided me many opportunities to grow my own math learning and further my development as a math teacher. I cannot recommend working with Mona enough if you also want to see growth within your students and yourself.
