"They only care about money"
They only care about money and they care about host family more than aupairs. I had a fight with a host family over their rules. At first, I wanted to cancel an interview with my host family for a match because they wanted an aupair to work for 45 hrs a week and work either Saturday or Sunday. Plus take care of 4 kids for $200. I understand it’s a rule. But they expected me to cook for host mom and dad and their kids during COVID-19 which is out of rule. I told them why I didn’t like to have an interview with them but they still asked me to talk with their current aupair so I did. I didn’t wanna judge the host family and I wanted to tell them my honest opinions so I talked with host dad ( at that time, host mom was not home ) he was nice and very understandable but he asked me to negotiate with his wife and she called me to tell me I’m an unprofessional aupair and Im immature. She also mentioned that she called the agency to remove my application so they did cut me . I mean I understand it is a rule to work for 45 hrs maximum for $200 or more and no limits for the numbers of kids. It was my problem that I told them I don’t wanna work for 45 hrs and take care of 4 kids. It could be very offensive for host family. I admit it was my fault But it’s not ok to cook for host mom and host dad. It’s not an aupair rule. Has Interexchange ever considered that? Every host family pays tons of money for the agency so interexchange only cares about money and host family. They don’t care about aupairs at all. They are always like be flexible with them. It’s your problem. Blah blah blah. I don’t think they treat us equally. Please please consider things from aupair’s side and host family’s side . You’ve never asked me for a one on one meeting over the issue. You just made that decision over the host family’s complaints about me. That’s not fair at all. Maybe ask the host family’s ex or current aupairs about them too. I won’t recommend anyone to apply for interexchange. It’s a white privileged company and no refund from them
