"Excellent Service And Fantastic Customer Care"
I contacted 0800 Handyman after a fairly exhaustive and unfruitful search via Twitter. They immediately got in touch and offered their assistance and I was very impressed with both the quality of their customer service and the quality of their workmanship. After so many poor experiences with tradespeople it was refreshing to have such a positive experience and I can't recommend them highly enough. I will definitely be using them in the future.

"Not always the cheapest but on time and do a good job"
My company manage a small block of 6 flats in London and before now we've been using smaller independent handymen. It's great to support small independent businesses (and often a bit cheaper) but you get what you pay for. We've now used 0800 handyman for a few jobs and they've always arrived on time and our tenants have always been very happy with the service. They've always got someone available with a few days notice.

"Never again"
Unfortunately a very bad experience on a small plastering job which is still not finished.
We needed the job to be complete by a specific date as we were due to have a boiler fitted on it which we discussed when booking. 0800 handyman later called me back to push the job back by two days meaning to the day we needed it to be complete by. He was booked in to start work at 9am on that date but finally turned up at 3pm following lots of phone calls to chase this. He then went away to get materials and returned a few hours later to make a start on the job. The following day he turned up again mid afternoon and left the job in a position in which we could have the boiler fitted but too late for us to paint the wall first. He told us he would be back the next day to clean up but never did.
I was then presented with a bill for almost twice the estimation they had provided with an extortionate material cost. When I queried this with the office they asked the handyman to contact us which he did by coming around to our house three times that day, where he shouted at members of the household over the fact that I had questioned the cost, with his final that day being at 9.30pm. He also co-erced his way into the house when I was not at home by telling my lodger there was a serious issue with the boiler (she didn't know he was not a boiler installer). A week later he came again and tried to push past my partner to get into the house. During this time I had written to the office to discuss my query further and also to alert them to his behaviour. I don't feel my complaint was taken seriously, with their only interest being in recovering payment.
I was eventually given a very small discount and threatened with legal action if I did not pay promptly which I don't think was reasonable given that the job was not finished. The job still is not complete but I paid to put an end to the threats of both legal action against me and the intimidation from handyman himself.

"Very good service"
I was a little concerned at first as my appointment was changed twice, however I decided to go for 3rd time lucky ........ and I was not disappointed. The chap turned up on time and was extremely friendly, very helpful and got on with the jobs I needed him to do.
This job was for my company (who are going to now set up an account with them based on this experience) ....... and I personally would be happy to use them at home if the need ever arises.

"Terrible Service and Rude"
Very expensive, shoddy workmanship and poor customer service - avoid like the plague.
I had to get another plumber out to deal with the problem, however disputed my claim and implied it was fabricated...
don't even call these guys in an emergency!

"Did the wrong job"
Didn't do the job I clearly explained to them and laid the blame at my door. No discount offered - "I don't have time to deal with this" was the response given. Do not use them. They are inefficient and unhelpful.

"Bad service"
Appointment was made a day in advance for 8am repair. At 9.30am I called the company to be told the workman had not turned up and they could not send anyone else. The company should have advised me at 8am when the workmen did not turn up. Why did I have to wait 1.5 hours and then call the company myself. Bad service.
Regarding reply from 0800Handyman: You did not let me know. I called you. You did not offer me another appointment today, you offered an appointment tomorrow. Please get facts straight.

Had a few odd jobs needing doing, so I called 0800handyman. From the outset the telephone conversation was helpful and friendly, and the following day the handyman himself, Adrian, arrived exactly on time. He was professional, courteous, and I suppose most importantly of all, thoroughly competent. Will definitely use this company again, thanks to this good experience.

"What Happened?"
Been using this company for a long time for all sorts of stuff here in the office. Last job they came in for, they actually ended up breaking something i called them in to do a job on. Very unprofessional outcome. Not only was the item left in an absolute state, no apology has been given and now they refuse to compensate............! Have never really had a problem with these guys, but this completely unacceptable.Wont ever be using them again despite our long work relationship.

"Unacceptable service."
Appointment was made 48 hours in advance for a morning repair to a door frame. I was told the repair would take c. 3 hours to complete so I booked the morning off work. Half an hour after the scheduled arrival time no one had arrived so I called the head office to be told "we were just about to call you - your handyman won't be able to make to make it today". It then took a further half an hour for them to call me back to confirm they couldn't find a replacement handyman at all for the same day. They then had the audacity to ask if I wanted to re-book. My advice; if you value your own time as well as prompt and transparent communication from a service such as this, stay well away.
